Exactly. They would not have needed to do the change with the other accounts, if they did get the houses while the restricions were off..(also SE..why exactly give us those rules and only have them active for such a short amount of time? I really believed that this was active all the time..)

But maybe its just better to ignore them.

The couple got their housing before the rules were set up and I am not really sure if they bought houses from other people. So in that case they did do nothing wrong. That is the reason why we had those 1 FC house per account rules so that this cant happen, but seemingly it was only there temporarily..The person in this thread stated that they needed to change housing by using more than one account, which sounds like they did that while the rules were still there, otherwise they could have just bought more houses on the same account with alts. So that is against the stated rules because they did everything to go beyond them.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
