Why's there no way to transfer data between characters on PS4?

It's really annoying having to set up your HUD and macros on PS4 all over again whenever you make a new character, I don't get why it's impossible to have have an option to just copy the data from one character to the other? Would it be hard on the servers (despite being 100% client-side) or is this some kind of sick way of discouraging alts?

i think it is due to the way the PS4 holds internal storage memory, for these files, they are not meant to be modifiable from outside sources they could find a way to get it to work but it would mess with the way HUDS and other information is held in the PS4 at the moment, tho i agree it should have a upload to the cloud to allow the online cloud to let it be used on anything.

I know PS4 now lets you install and use external disks. Worth a try checking there and maybe it resolves with a copy&paste, as it is possible with PC version.

I think it has something to do with the tutorial. When the game first begins it goes through certain HUD and UI important aspects. And if you are like me then you probably have customized it to look nothing like the starting HUD, therefore the tutorial wouldnt make sense if it copied from your other characters HUD.

However they should make an option to import from other characters after the initial tutorial.

You have no idea how happy it would make me to be able to export UI information from PS4 and PC into a transferable state, whether for backup purposes or for alt purposes.

I don't have multiple characters, but I never even considered this issue if I did create one. I guess I assumed my PS4 would retain the settings thinking the changes pertained to the account and not the character. Bummer. Even though a lot of my UI retains the default placements, nearly all have had their sizes adjusted to varied parameters. Ah well. Perhaps they will add a feature sometime in the future.
