The Meanest Savage Mechanic

We all have opinions. I'd like to hear yours: what's that "one" mechanic in any sort of savage raid that strikes fear into your heart? That no matter how many times you watch a video, or pull it off flawlessly, you get agitated and concerned when it comes up?

For me, it's the Ink mechanic in O7S. I know it's just a reskinned Levinbolt, but there's something about the little extra mile that makes me nervous. Probably a combination of that little extra thought process (wait, is it this part of the fight?) delays it enough that I fret over doing it right.

Kefka's tank buster Wings of Destruction makes me the most nervous even though executing it properly isn't that difficult at all.

O7s Abandonment - thanks to the obvious lag-issues the fight has. I always hope I'll get searing wind... me and my partner can be perfectly "stacked" in the middle, doing everything by the book... and then I see my character flying over the screen, while the healer stands still for a second and only gets knocked back a short while after. Most of the times it works out, but once in a while it doesnt, which mostly ends in a wipe.

Its one thing if you fail a mechanic because you made a mistake.

...and then there is failing a mechanic that you executed properly, with the knockback being taken out of your hand, you being stunned and then the serverticks fucking you over...

Though I personally enjoy this fight, the Queen's Waltz in the final phases of V3S strikes fear into me. That was my first real introduction into Savage (let's be honest, V1S and V2S are jokes). Going in as an AST, having burned a hell of a lot of MP up to this point in the fight, and having to deal with everyone's health while watching both what panel the boss and other players are standing on, while planning heals in your head...nothing in the game up to this point had prepared me for anything like V3S. Nothing quite like getting off a perfectly timed Earthly Star, only for players to suddenly panic and run in your direction when Queen's Waltz pops up and it's books dropping down next.

Divebombs thanks to T9 in particular. I still twitch when I hear the marker placement SFX in unrelated fights sometimes.

If we're talking more recent fights, then the Reaper tethers + Forced March from O3S. Even when I finally got it down pat I'd still hold my breath waiting for someone else to mess it up...

O7S Virus phase. Goddamn server tick. Most of the time it's a breeze for my static. But sometimes server tick just screws us over _(:<JZ)_

My current least favorite is at the start of the final phase of a8s, regardless if synced or unsynced. It's been so long since I've been in there that I forgot what it's called, but basically you're trying to recoup from a big attack and there are things to do all over the damn screen, and people who are supposed to handle their specific spots are sometimes on the wrong side of the arena (or dead). Maybe my memory's a little fuzzy, but that mechanic makes my eye twitch just thinking about it.

For me? I wouldn’t call them evil, but I hated Emptiness in Neo. >.> Just because I got clipped often by the stupid crappy fish hook patterns. Photons in A11S still make me nervous just thinking about them.
