They can't ban them without proof and i doubt anyone is really buying gil right now.
and thats the problem
yes they may be rmt, but chances are they arent doing any business right now, they are stocking up in mass
and that....is perfectly legal, and its why they cant get any dirt on them to ban them right now
and then you got alot of people who look suspicious but probly are legit, which is why you have to investigate and not just blindly ban, you want to try your best not to hit the innocent
people will never understand the reality of it, you cant just wave a finger and ban people because of suspicion, but people are what they are, they want what they want, and if you dont do what they want, your apperently doing nothing

Sure you can what more proof do you need than a bunch of poorly punched in key names(x8) and a person that never sleeps, never eats, and never takes a piss?and thats the problem

the fact is SE just doesn't give a flying tit, as long as there paying there 9.99( x8) a month.
once again, you contradict what im saying with what you are thinking
someone who plays 24/7 for days on end, actively, not stopping, is proof something is being done thats not humanly possible. thats where they can get them
but problem is there are also ways to easily hide it too.
what if they are only active with said botting 8 hours a day? is that reasonable? of course it is as far as the human factor goes. so then what proof can you give that they are botting just at a glance?
again, you cant prove anything off of "i think hers a bot therefore he should be banned" you need real proof, and its something players can not determine on their own! sure you can report, but just because you report it, doesnt mean its an actual bot or cheater. and thats where the problem with people lies when they demand punishment, they cant prove it, and demand it be done on their word alone

It's not against ToS to share accounts, is it? So it could be multiple people taking turns with the same character.
In other words: I agree with you that it's by far not as easy to detect bots as many make it out to be.
I don't. Failure or not, there is nothing "embarrassing" about trying to provide players with an enjoyable game environment.

Either people don't read or they are just stupid.
ill go with stupid
after all, people want bots/rmt banned without proof, even if they arent rmt/bots
if SE took peoples word for every report they get and just banned away, idiots would use it to get people they just dont like banned
its the equivilent of someone accusing someone else of a crime and the police just arresting without actualy looking into it at all purely because they can and cuz "well they said you did it"
i mean can you imagine
"Officer, that man stole something, arrest him immediately!"
"What did he steal, and from who"
"Well I cant tell you cuz i dont know, but hes doing it, im sure of that, so arrest him"
"Sorry we need proof, we can not do that based solely on your word"
"You arent doing your job you should be fired!"
thats basicaly how people here are acting

Alternatively, you can prove that something is not humanly possible without the aid of prohibited support programs...ill go with stupid

While this may be true, most people here are just on a witch hunt, and no one can deny that.
If they dont ban the person you report, they arent doing their jobs, the players feel like they are the judge jury and executioner and they ARE NOT, and thats what some people need to remember.
What you may think is happening, may not be, so my example holds very very true to that.
As far as the "not humanly possible" remark, thats actualy a way to prove things, so it would fall under the "how are they doing it" question that a GM may look at, if its not humanly possible, its proof. But most peoples reasons are "if i cant do it, no one can" when it comes to whats possible

Not only are they technically not doing anything illegal (untill they actually sell some gil) they are in fact simply utilizing a Power Level System that Yoshi himself fully endorsed.
Yes, they are doing it for the gil, not to "level a friend to play with" but they are using the same broken mechanic.
Perhaps the XVI version of RMT Measures is to make it so easy and so obvious that they can do mass bannings every few months after the markets have once again had a meltdown and the economy settles down for a little while...
...wait, that sounds a lot like the way it is in every MMO ever.
I sometimes think these Video Game Companies tolerate RMT to an extent because it does provide many subscriptions and they can show Subscription Growth Figures to the Board of Trustees every quarter (after the bannings of course), but I am a big Conspiracy Theorist and tend to believe things like that.
