Hiding the new search results window?

When I right-click and "search" on a piece of gear, it brings up a new window I'd rather not have obscuring my screen (especially as I use the search feature most often when trying to quickly figure out whether I have a particular piece of gear-to-be-rolled-on during dungeon runs). This screen is a new feature from today's patch, and I'd rather just rely on the search information that dumps in the chat box.

I've looked through the settings, but didn't see an option to disable it. Anyone have better luck?

God, I wish this could be turned off just due to the fact that it's redundancy at its finest. The search results display text of where it's at, I don't need a visual guide of the exact same info.

as someone who uses chat a lot i like it, other then that just make the scaling of it super small

As someone that had the chat settings that included search results over in a basically unused tab that quickly gets filled with unnecessary clutter, I like the idea of the search window.

But, I was also just as content with the flying text pop up on screen anyway. I often don't need to know where an item is, just whether I've got it or not. Knowing if I have it is often enough for me to know where to expect to find it. And I was quite pleased when I noticed they had added the glamour dresser to the list of searchables, whenever that happened.

Basically, search was good enough before, but as they continue to add inventories, the window may be the ideal direction to go. And given that we know they have so much trouble with inventory, and have found adding new separate inventories to be a work-around, it could be this is preparation for the future if they end up developing more.

Make it a feature you can pull up in the char menus, but please unlink it to right click -> search. Let us use it if we want, but don't force it.

I like the search window. I'd like it more if the original pop-up message told you where the items were located, but the window (once I'm used to it appearing!) is more useful than the text log messages for me. I don't have a lot of screen space so I can't set the text log window very large, and I actually can't see the entire search results without having to click over to the log and expand it to see where the items are - unless I want to know about collectibles, which I generally don't.

But yes, an option to choose between the new and old search formats would make sense.

Id rather be a window that stays put....and can edit text content on the fly.
