    I'm nervous about PvP.

I played lots of Tekken 7 against others and I DEEPLY understand the kind hell that goes through your heart with stuff like that.

I imagine PvP in this game is just as intense? My goal is to win ten "frontlines" so I can get my special ginga pipe mount. Doesn't seem a lot but this is PvP we're talking about!

    Is it gonna be hard?

There are 72 people in some pvp matches it's not like you're personally carrying the load. It's much more of a team focused game where people need to do things together to win.

To be honest I wouldn't worry about Frontlines at all. Just like Layla mentioned, there are a ton of players in this instance and no doubt there could be other people in the same situation as you being new to PvP. If you try the 24man PvP then that can be more challenging, but it's just a matter of getting used to it all and you will either like it in the end of not. It's also a lot of pot luck sometimes and you can get a team which is just making no effort at all.

Took me ages to get the 10 wins. I didn't think it would be that bad, but it was. Perhaps you'll have better luck. I started getting more wins once I went freelancer vs. sticking with The Flames.

But yeah, as others have said, Frontlines itself is not all that intimidating. If you're unsure of what to do, just try and stay with the group.

It's really not bad. Matches are relatively quick and you're just "job name" to everyone, so unless you're super identifiable with your outfit nobody is gonna know who you are. Your team will but they're going to be too busy killing other people, afking, or screaming that nobody followed them when they decided to solo the Maelstrom base instead of going for the three ice that popped along the way.

What wrecks pvp is all those bots and ones that use hacks. Should seen Aion pvp when first few years when came out.

Why stress? Just have fun, be competent but don't take it too seriously to the point you get worn out or turn crappy to your teammates. And I wouldn't call it intense but I won't deny the rush you get when you win a 1v1 or 1v2.

I was nervous too, in the beginning. But I really wanted that cheerleader minion, so I dove in. The first few times were rough; even though I'd read the guides and watched the videos, I was scared of screwing up.

On my second or third match, I got kicked. Wasn't sure what to make of it at the time, thought maybe I died too often...was still too green to know that three deaths isn't necessarily "a lot of dying." But somehow I felt as though I'd gotten something bad over with early. Later on I gleaned that the combination of being relatively unknown and looking a little disorganized made me look like a bot...but I kept on queuing, and tried to talk a little in chat, and there were no more kicks after that.

Then one time, a teammate strayed too far from the group and was having a 1v1 with an enemy, losing ground fast. I wasn't a healer, but I tried to help him. Unfortunately, I had just started trying out a new job and I really didn't know all my buttons that well, and our opponent clearly outclassed us both. He killed my teammate, then he killed me. And then my teammate put me on blast in party chat for not being good enough to save him. It stung for a while, I thought about it for a week maybe...and then I kept queuing. I think I was still nervous, but I never ran into him again, so it kept getting better, little by little.

I started where you are now. Wasn't always easy, but after sticking with it for a couple years, I have two Frontline mounts, two Garo horses, all the Garo gear, some nifty titles, and a cute little lantern minion.

You can do it too. I believe in you.

Now get out there and bust some heads. \o/

Fighting games are typically much more intense because it's just you and them. The stakes feel considerably higher because you have no support and no one to blame but yourself etc.

FF14 PVP is (the matched side of things) is very uncompetitive and I'd wager nearly 75% of the participants (that aren't bots) are simply there to put absolutely no effort in to collect rewards. It is frustrating for those who do want to try and win though.

You will find a lot of machinists and bards. Stay away from those if you are alone, they can kill you fast.
Healers are a nuisance and you will need 3 teammates to kill one. They probably will be your bigger issue.

But mostly the combat is kinda slow. Be sure to always stick with someone, dont forget to clear objectives, and dont be too reckless and you will be ok. Most fights are won cause the team cleared objectives rather than winning pvp fights
