There's no glory in playing as a warrior; fight me

Someone who's played for months >?< someone who just pushed 70 and watched a video.

    ▲Is there a difference anymore?
▲Could you tell these 2 players appart?

There's no glory in being a decent warrior anymore, my guis.
    We're all decent now.
We've got nothing to be proud of.

Building up for a strong hit/defence used to be an ART, but now it's just waiting for 1 buff.

It used to take careful planning and experience to run a dungeon like a pro.
And it was god damn fantastic!

We'd be out there landing storm combos on moving targets just to keep those mfing stacks alive or build the gauge as of late, and that management used to separate the good from the bad, it used to mean something.

    Well it doesn't anymore.

Smh people noticed when you max-decimated the shit out of a whole dungeon or turned the healers into dps by using your build up for buffs and heals, but now everyone can do that just by pressing 1 button.

Being a "Warrior main" doesn't make someone a good Warrior, let alone a good player.

Totally agree with this, and "main" is a stupid expression.
I used it here to describe someone who invests extra time and energy to improve their skills and to get a sense of acheivement whilst utilizing those skills.
Feel like that joy is gone now that the class is so dull and easy to play; everyone is just as good; there is no good anymore.

I think this is kinda what SE is aiming for lately though, they want to decrease the skill gap between good and bad players. WAR has basically set the benchmark for what they want jobs to be like.

I appreciate this. And I'm all for making sure people don't feel bad about how they're playing. It sucks big time when some elitist calls you out in front of the whole party for not shirking his logs enough or whatever. Miss me with that braty shit. I just wish they'd make it unecessary to be super skilled, but still possible to be so. Optimalizing isn't fun when it hardly makes a difference.

Really miss the times when I felt I was mastering something bigger and more complete than just shooting 8 f****** magical fell cleaves in a row every 90s, is another good way of putting it.

While I mostly agree, its not elitist for someone else to call you out for not using your toolkit (assuming youre referring to shirk).

I like to Shirk a bad DPS who runs his mouth. Is that using my toolkit?

There are still better and worse Warriors, but it's more a result of player fundamentals than intimate job optimization now; it's understandable that some players aren't exactly satisfied with that.

Personally, I still enjoy Warrior (and probably more so than its previous iteration), but, more to the point, was it overly dumbed down? Sure, I don't mind saying so, but I don't think that the previous incarnation of Inner Release was particularly well designed either. As satisfying as it sometimes was to optimize, I honestly think that it was more of a nuisance than anything.

That's because glory is for the namby-pamby paladins.

We fight for death and face smashing....

All things aside though, I do appreciate the changes they did do to warrior because those very same changes converted alot of my friends from paladins to trying warrior. and now theyre in love. And we need more face smashers XD
