Regarding Namazu [spoilers?]

Ok so I've started doing the quests to unlock the Namazu tribe and when doing Gyorin the Namazu I found something rather odd...... How in the seven hells can Namazu NOT be able to breath underwater?! For Pete sake they're FISH!

I mean I stroll up to Gyorin and he say's he's lost his fishing rod... and he can't swim... and "being a city Namazu jumping in the river is tantamount to suicide"

Maybe only the city Namazu haven't learned to swim? (not safe/healthy to swim around Kugane Harbour, or something)

Though since they seem to have evolved from having fins to arms and legs, they may not be able to swim so well. Especially if they've also lost their gills, or they're less efficient and not suited to staying permanently underwater any more.

Maybe a river Namazu can swim, and 'breathe water' to extend their time down there, but can't get enough oxygen to stay underwater permanently.

Lets see; they value their bells so I take it they don't want to get it damaged or it weights them down so much that prevents them from swimming, predators in the water, and my personal favorite too lazy to swim ( water is cold ) -.-
