My point was simple. Your judgment is impaired at 18 and for some years beyond. I get you like to feel that you've got big boy/girl britches on because the law says you're an adult, but that's nothing more than a false sense of importance.

You don't know crap at 18. Especially in this scenario. The fact that she waffles is exactly to my point.

A kid will wallow in uncertainty because the judgement centers in their brain are not fully formed. No one is an exception. You were not, I was not, no one is, and if you still persist in claiming some special exception from medical science, it calls into question your own judgment and maturity.

I don't know what drives your insistence but this is not specialized knowledge. Humans stay in an immature state far longer than most animals, despite laws and society suggesting otherwise. It's precisely because of those societal pressures and viewpoints that many a predator captures their prey. People are led to believe what isn't true.

And probably the most important thing of all: THE MEDIA AND SOCIAL MEDIA ARE NOT THE LAW! If you find yourself party to someone's inappropriate behavior DO NOT post it on social media first. GO TO THE AUTHORITIES. It is not our responsibility to persecute or prosecute anyone for their behavior. If there is someone conducting inappropriate behavior then follow the steps in game to report them. If the behavior exists outside of the game, then the person affected needs to contact the proper authorities. To anyone who thinks everyone accused of something needs to be dragged into the Court of Public Opinion to be shamed: y'all need to take a step back and think about if it were you in that situation. None of this should be made public and should be handled behind closed doors between all parties involved. None of this bickering is solving anything. If you want to raise awareness for online harassment then do that by listing things to look out for and the steps to take to avoid them. Even sharing your own stories and how you overcame your adversity can go a long way to helping someone. Instead of arguing like children try to do something productive with this post.

I like the shifting of goal posts here. We aren't talking whether or not if laws are broken should you go to the authorities. This is completely about someone's behavior affecting the community as a warning to avoid it, in regards to the discussion being had about it. Nice try but doesn't work here.

No amount of discussion on the topic will. The only thing you can do here is try to work towards keeping it from happening again in the future. The divide amongst those within this thread will not vanish, how we handle situations varies from person-to-person and because of that everyone will have differing views. Only thing we can do is treat others based around how we would wish to be treated.

I know, right? That's what I've been trying to say. I know I'm contributing to the problem by continuing to post, but as I said, I can't leave things well enough alone...

While I can agree with taking steps to prevent something happening again, it also doesn't change the fact that those determined enough WILL find a way no matter how many trillions of precautions you take. So therefore, I agree the onus should be on dealing with those that do it. Though I will say the best thing to do is have lawyers involved, and get them thrown in prison.

It would be nice, but not all states are caught up to the problem, and it's an international problem at that. Many of these laws are misdemeanors at best. So I doubt anyone would be going to prison for that. That's why I said someone's statement earlier was a strawman - using the assumption that everything being discussed here is prosecutable by law. Or that we're discussing "the past" (which I don't even know why that should have been part of the discussion).

In the case of the accuser, he put out a statement about trying or attempting to get back on the publication after "all of this dies down" so it should be put out there as a precaution to those that don't know his behavior that there is a chance he may engage in it again especially those new or ignorant to what is going on unfortunately.
