They wont change the gear
And if you're worried about awkward proportion thats what lalafells are
When the Falcon mount from the campaign was first released, many complained how there were pokethroughs and how it didn't even look like the characters fit. They ending up fixing it. Not saying that it'll happen with the dress of course, but the idea isn't exactly unheard of.

Biggest difference is that the Falcon mount was in-house. These sets were made by the contractor who makes the Chinese cash-shop stuff and I doubt they'll go back to have them edit it.When the Falcon mount from the campaign was first released, many complained how there were pokethroughs and how it didn't even look like the characters fit. That is not true. There was an interview where they stated that they get asked for the items, paid for them and produce them in house. There was even a picture of one of the chinese mounts in a SE room tour. So no this is all done by SE.
A.) It may feel like the pace is being accelerated but the Mog Station releases are on a release schedule. More recently, we have been releasing items to the Chinese and Korean servers, which are separate from our global servers (NA/EU/JP). Since those games use a different payment model than the global version, those regions pay us to create these items and supplement the game itself. "

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Which is kind of embarrassing given how noticeably lower quality most of the Chinese outfits have been. I can't tell if they just put less resources into them because they were originally meant for a single region or if they were an intern project, but without fail most of them have some texture or mesh issue.
Well then. That's both hopeful because it means they might change it, but as Enla said, all the more troubling.
