These kinds of advertisements occur daily and SquareEnix doesn't appear to have the guts to actually enforce their own rules. There isn't even an easy way to report this kind of stuff. May as well advertise that you're selling runs in the forums, since it's not against the rules, apparently.

Someone else spending money to let a person play the game for them so they can get a shiny weapon that they didn't earn has no effect on me or anyone else. If it makes them happy then let it be. I don't understand why this matters to people. Would it be okay if it was free? Is it just because it's against ToS? No there is definitely a hint of something else... Idk it's whatever.

That's also why SE prolly doesn't really enforce it hard, since it doesn't really effect anyone negatively unlike gil bots and the economy.

It cheapens the entire act of getting the clear and the item. It's done through means not supported in game and is against the ToS. Complacency solves nothing.

However we all know people are paying real money and lots of it for a clear, and on top of that, the person getting the clear isn't even playing, someone else is playing for them. However since all of this takes place out of game, the transaction, the discussing, etc, se can't do anything about. They can only take care of things in game, and not 3rd party resources. Is this dumb? Yes does this affect your play? Probably not.

They can though. IP logging exists. It's beyond obvious, I'm sure, when someone else uses your account, especially when during that time you do something you were unable to do before. SquareEnix doesn't need hard proof to make a case against the player in question. Their ToS says they can terminate your account whenever they want for whatever reason they see fit. If it's this obvious to the players that these people are engaging in RMT then it should be to the staff. They most certainly can do something about it and have had the power to do something about it since the most recent variation of their ToS.

Any advertisement for selling a clear that wants to use a third party program to talk about it, is clearly RMT. They don't want to bring it up in game because chat logs.

Also its not possible to sell for gil when your ad is CROSS SERVER as you can't just trade gil between servers. Thus, its not possible for it to be anything other than RMT. Far too often do companies set rules for their games, then never actually enforce them. This is one of those times.
