Minimum ilvl in leveling dungeons, PLEASE SE! This is getting ridiculous.

This definitely isn't the first thread on this, but the amount of woefully and intentionally undergeared players in leveling dungeons is getting ridiculous. I'm not talking about the Shire tanks in Bardam's, I'm talking to the point of ~i150 in Sirensong Sea, i200 gear in Doma Castle, etc. It was bad at Stormblood's release, but its even worse nowadays. Kicking many of them is impossible at best since most enter with their friends to avoid votekicks. I shouldn't have to take a 30 minute penalty because a troll decides to queue for a leveling dungeon with gear 10-20 character levels below where they should be.

I literally just had a PLD in Doma Castle with several pieces of i200 gear, including the main hand weapon. Others were ~250-260. Tank couldn't hold hate on anything, despite everyone popping enmity reductions on cooldown.

Its a regular occurrence these days to see players this badly geared. I don't care if the minimum is set really low, but we need one badly for leveling dungeons. Something like i240-250 minimum at Doma Castle would work. There's no reason to not have halfway decent level 60 gear at the worst by the time you hit 67 anyway, and they'd at least have a chance of holding hate on most of the mobs or not dying in two hits with cooldowns on.

Ouch yea this irritates me to no end not leveling anything at the moment, but when I leveled my healer from 60-70 I lost it and started cursing like a sailor then left. I don’t think I could put up with it anymore if I went back I’ll just take the penalty.

This is why I recently leveled my job healer exclusively in potd except for class quests.

I had a DRK with IronWorks greatsword on Castrum Abania once. I just left because people didn't want to kick them.

They need to fix it to where tanks can't run them wearing with caster gear and then everyone blames healer for them dying.

All battle instances need to have min ilvl.

That min ilvl doesn't have to be crazy high to block out legitimate people leveling for the first time, but it needs to be high enough to get rid of people leveling their alt jobs who are too lazy/cheap to go buy some gear.

I'm guilty of having levelled a few things so quickly I forgot to upgrade my gear and then I find myself in a dungeon a little over my ilvl.
But thankfully never of the extreme level where I see some tanks in level 65+ areas wearing level 20 accessories or something.

I'll be fair, I don't buy upgrades for the 50-60 or 60-70 levelling range, and simply wear augmented ironworks/shire gear until I can get the next tomestone sets.

Does make some of the class quests rather harsh, though.

At a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare minimum, the requirement for the previous dungeon should still apply for the next one. That would place Dusk Vigil at i90+, and Sirensong at i230+(based on Keeper and Baelsars respectively). Those requirements are insultingly easy to meet, and while they wouldnt make for easy runs of the next dungeon they would at least be completable with good play(while leaving upgrade room for those who struggle with good play). You could add 10 to each successive dungeon, and youd basically walk players up to the requirements for their tier next cap dungeons. Since each leveling dungeon in these ranges gives at least 1 guaranteed drop(not to mention quest gear) anyone leveling this way would more or less automatically meet all requirements organically.
