new account + MSQ = burn-out

I'm so close, yet so burned out. I'm on "The Road Home" lvl 68. I've unlocked flying in all but The Peaks and The Lochs. I just don't want to log in anymore. I feel like I'm not enjoying the latest expansion because I've already pounded through the MSQs of the original game and Heavensward. By the way, it's only taken me 3 - 4 weeks to progress this far.

I think it's time to take a break from this game and pick it back up later. I didn't buy the instant progression from the store because I wanted to play the game, not skip it. But, playing is too long and skipping is far too short. The only balance is playing through and then taking a break.

So.... see you all sometime in the near future!!!

Lol there’s a lot more story to get the through, it’s too bad the English localization team isn’t up to par. I think they require much SUCCOR.

When SB first came out last year, is when I started the game. I had levelled up quickly and after doing all I thought I could using PUGS stopped playing. Then on a whim last xmas (6 months of not playing). I started again, join a new FC who actually made an effort to tech me more of the game and I ended up leveling up RDM as I was sick of DRG.

Some times taking a step back helps, but I would get to 70 and try some of the end game content out first.

Calm down there. It's not like he slapped your grandma.

Just because you've managed to slog 3 characters through the forced-MSQ, it doesn't mean that others can't feel the burn-out and be unhappy with it. I have always stayed on top of the MSQ as it's released, and I also found it painful.

Seems to me like you did too much all in one sitting, more or less. FFXIV’s MSQ is massive, even with the trimming the developers have done in the patches between expansions. I’d suggest just taking a step back for a couple weeks, and then coming back and seeing how you feel. And to do any future progression in smaller spurts rather than blowing through it all—or to just take it a bit slower. One thing my friend had me doing when I first started this game was things on the side if she thought I was getting burnt out on the main story. Like just level another class and have fun with lower level stuff for a few days, then go back to the MSQ. Maybe that is something you could try doing if you still feel a bit of burn out, but want to play for a while. It’s all about finding what will work for you.

If you wanted to do it all I really don't recommend that you do that much in such a short time. That is YEARS of content, it was not meant to be experienced like that.

XD It is a lot of stuff... I've done it on Nine characters now, and my goodness... I know it's not for everyone to do that much stuff so fast!!

I have 8 characters in Stormblood on Jenova, with a level 60 gatherer on all of them.

I'm not burned out.
I think my problem is the opposite of yours - I may have an addiction.

Honestly it sounds like you burned yourself out. Take a breather, relax, and when you come back don't think 'Oh I have to go right back to the story!' Instead why not take some time out and go sightseeing? Unlock the log and just travel around Eorzea looking at things. Some spots in this game are rather pretty.

3-4 weeks? That does sound a little fast in my opinion. I restarted 4 months ago and am still working through Stormblood.

Side note: As someone who’s always been into Final Fantasy for the story, world and lore, it’s always interesting to hear the perspectives of people who aren’t here primarily for that.
