When everyone says no other rewards are time-gated they always forget about legacy status/1.0

To be fair 1.0 was a different game, and such rewards were given to those that played said game so semantically speaking it was not FFXIV:ARR. So it is not really wrong to say that no other time gated rewards are in the game outside those that were attached to some outside promotional code or something. Though I would all be for having those items back in game.
3.x pvp was also entirely different than pvp now. To the point it doesnt even feel the same.To be fair 1.0 was a different game, and such rewards were given to those that played said game so semantically speaking it was not FFXIV:ARR. People don't want the game to change.... when it is convenient for them. When faced with a hurdle they feel they cannot hope to jump they either attempt to change the rules and make the hurdle lower or maybe even cheat in the end.
This is why it is so baffling to me. There is a extreme hatred in this game for cheating and rmt, rightfully so. Currently there is a huge scandle about Ultimate cheating and rmt. People getting rewards they either did not work for or cheated to make it easier for them. People are really upset about it.
So why we have people insist on making TOP 100 rewards available to everyone for nothing is beyond me. They are basically asking for SE to cheat for them. If people cannot get top 100 then frankly they do not deserve top 100 rewards period. The bar has been set. Either get top 100 for what you want or accept the fact that not everything in this game is made for you, pretty simple.
Even as we speak, SE is going to reward top teams in Light Party with Fanfest tickets to play in championship tournament being held at Fanfest. Are people going to now demand that SE put fanfest tickets in the gold saucer cause it is only fair? I sincerely hope not.
Before we going on I would like to say your point of view does seem fair, and understandable. With that being said not factoring in emotion or desire why is it wrong to make items available for everyone for different reasons? Just wondering. So why we have people insist on making TOP 100 rewards available to everyone for nothing is beyond me. They are basically asking for SE to cheat for them. I understand that nor am I pretending otherwise I am simply asking you without factoring in emotion or desire what is wrong with making the items available to everyone for different reasons.People demanding these rewards for nothing is all emotion and desire. The see something they can't have and want. So they make demands. Don't act like the people who make these threads are doing it out of some pure principle. They see something that they might want and when they realize they can't have it, make thread and demand it for nothing. Plain and simple.

There is a reason there are not constant threads demanding things like legacy tatoos/chocobos and artwork contest rewards. People see what they like and they attack the mechanism preventing them from achieving it. In this case PVP has appealing items. It's all emotion and desire for them. Not principle
Edit: slight typo
But what about the hell hound mount?
What emotion and desire? SE said these rewards are top 100 players only and only available for a limited time. Items should stay as advertised. Top 100 rewards for top 100 players. And if you are going to claim that is emotion and desire, then merely implying right or wrong is referencing a emotion and desire. You can't sit there and say without "emotion and desire" and then ask me how it is "wrong" when objectively right or wrong is based on how people feel about it. At that point your question is self conflicting. There isn't much more to say to you on this matter. Find another point to debate.

Threadly reminder that as a legacy player most of us don't care about our tattoo and trash items. This stuff should of been in the game anyways. Most of us don't even agree with s/e's logic to let us keep our progress during the transfer anyways. It was unfair and they should of just let us have our names be in the credits and leave it at that. The exclusive argument also took a huge nose dive the day they added the Goobbue mount to the Sylph dailies anyways. There really is no point or reason for them to honor legacy status anymore. Heck you can still buy promo codes from 1.0 and they'll still work if you enter them in Mogstation enough times. I'm sure you're quite familiar with it.
