[Request] Add alternative methods to getting old Feast rewards

I'd much rather they change the reward system to allow me to pick the mount I win after a season is over. What if I don't want the Garlean chair thing? If I could pick what I wanted, say the original Hellhound or Eagleeye outfit, I'd have more incentive to queue. As it stands, I only play Ranked Feast out of boredom and filling challenge logs because the queues are faster. I couldn't care less if I don't win top 100 because I don't like the reward.

If everyone could choose which mount they wanted then more people would probably play.

They also seriously need to stop adding rewards unrelated to Feast at all, into Feast. It's a cheap bait tactic. The Hellhounds mounts, minion, and armor set could've been Void raid drops but they're not. They have no business in Feast. Scientist guy's chair could've been a MSQ reward(should've, actually) but it's not. It has no business in Feast.

Season 8 is here now and we haven't gotten a single Feast-Related reward since what? Season 2?

They need to put them as Wolf Mark rewards after a period of time.
Wolf Marks are useless once you get the skins you want.
This will give incentive to people to play more Frontlines and PvP content.

Theese rewards are meant to be exclusive and if you want them yourself get out there and fight for them!

No. I wouldn't be mad. This exact thing happened in TERA for an exclusive minion and I just went "meh". I had already had the minion for two years before anyone else and my worth isn't validated by pixels. I was happy other people got the chance to use the cute minion.

Think about it - none of this kind of top 100 stuff happens for any other PvP game worth it's salt. Not even League has exclusive rewards for top players. The most they have is the Victorious skins each season for Gold + but the thing that makes that work is everyone can get to Gold +. Not just 100 people. And the seasons also last the entire year. And there is ranked decay. Feast reward systems are terribly designed.

There's one thing I agree on with non-Feast-people and that's Feast rewards should have no relations to PvE. I know Hellhound was highly requested by the PvE community and putting it into The Feast was not a good idea. Same goes for the Magitek Conveyor (the flying seat from the scientist in Ala Mhigo dungeon). I guess SE tried to make people play Feast but imo it was not a smart decision. I would have liked to see Hellhounds being the current primal mounts and the wolves as Feast rewards since Feast is wolf themed. But SE decided otherwise, probably because the wolf mounts are Okami style and match the whole eastern theme SB has.

If they fixed the way you rank, made the seasons longer, and make the PvP rewards NOT requests the PvE players make, then I would understand exclusive rewards the same way I understand the Victorious skins. SE does not realize they will NEVER get these PvE players into PvP period. End of story. I cannot get a single person in my FC or linkshells to play anything remotely PvP with me. No amount of rewards will, and putting the stuff they ask for constantly behind PvP just serves to deepen the hatred they have for it.

How many people actually care if something they earned in the past becomes easier to obtain or available from another means? It doesn't invalidate the effort you spent to get it initially and it certainly doesn't take it away from you. Some of the arguments against this idea are so riddled with emotion and strawmanning it's hilarious.

Hell this situation happened in XI when Abyssea was added as content and the ability to level to cap was made far faster/easier. Cue the outcry of "real" players saying nah nah you didn't earn those levels like we did (also like when PotD was added in here). Honestly they should also re-release the digital bonuses that came with real life purchases, I know I won't get cranky if someone has the postmoogle even though they didn't "earn" it by spending money on the plush.

My only problem with Top 100 Feast rewards is that they're limited by time.
I get it, it's a competition and all that, but when you can get everything else in the game with enough time, work and money having this one thing locked out does feel a little bad.

At least the contest rewards are the same things made available through different events. Sometimes drawings...sometimes screenshots...sometimes poems or stories. That would be like making pvp rewards available through pvp, but also gold saucer, front lines, potd and so on.

What emotion and desire? SE said these rewards are top 100 players only and only available for a limited time. Items should stay as advertised. Top 100 rewards for top 100 players. And if you are going to claim that is emotion and desire, then merely implying right or wrong is referencing a emotion and desire. You can't sit there and say without "emotion and desire" and then ask me how it is "wrong" when objectively right or wrong is based on how people feel about it. At that point your question is self conflicting. There isn't much more to say to you on this matter. Find another point to debate.

When I used the word wrong I was using it the context of breaking an established rule or agreement, no so much as emotion. Is it fair to say your established rule / agreement is based around an agreement between the PvP community and Square Enix? If that is the case in theory if square were to alter the agreement, would you have an issue with it? Or is Square not free to make alterations to the agreement? Would it be fair it the alternations were meant for future rewards only?

Regardless of that, you stating something is wrong is inserting feeling. If something is wrong then you feel that it is wrong. And yes, SE has made it abundantly clear that these rewards are exclusive to top 100 players and time exclusive through numerous blogs and announcements and is still true to this very day.

Also, I find your questions rather rhetorical. Would breaking a promise be wrong? I think we both know the answer to that question.
