Lol so I've been playing for awhile.
And aside from content lock I'm kind of tired of being paired up with incredibly unskilled players.
Now with the cross server PF, making and forming raid groups, is just awful!
Is there gonna be a way filter these out? OTHER THAN TURNING YOUR PF SETTINGS TO (WORLD) Cause no one uses that.
About to just quit playing cause of this stuff.

Cross server PF, horrendous.

Gotta disagree with this, because cross-server PF made it possible to farm a lot of the older Ex primals back in HW when Party Finder first went cross-world; before then, on my server at least, Ex primals were not farmed very often save for the most recent one. Same with making it easier to PUG Creator Savage.

Cross-world PF is a great thing. You can’t guarantee the quality of people you find in cross-world PF, but that doesn’t mean that all players on servers that aren’t yours are bad. You can’t even guarantee that you’ll get better players from your server unless you are able to measure their skill.

Are you meaning you think the party finder has only recently gone cross-world? I think it’s always been that way.

Cross-world Party Finder became a thing in Patch 3.4, if I remember correctly. For a very long time it was just server-only. Which made it super painful to farm Extreme trials, especially if you weren’t on a server that did a lot of higher-end content. It’s also the reason people flocked to Gilgamesh, because most raiders were on that server (for Aether anyways) and it was easier to find statics there.

What makes you think you’ll get better players on your server than on cross world anyway? Bad players are everywhere.

And healers casting broil and midcast canceling could be due to a dps eating a mech and having to heal them in advance of an incoming Aoe so that they do not have to Rez said dps from lack of heals (which is a far greater overall damage loss for both players)

And if it’s a learning party, that would mean other players are learning the fight too. From a healer perspective, it means having to learn when the damage is coming for burst heals. From a tank perspective it means knowing CD use. From caster perspective it’s about mobility for minimizing cast canceling from dodging. You can’t complain that other players are bad while also shielding your own play because of a learning party. If you can die 5 times in a learning party, so can they.

And for savage, learning parties do come up, but a lot of them end up waiting ages because other players don’t join them. Savage is at a stage now when many players will not help those in Learning parties learn the fight.

Ah, okay. I started just before Stormblood was released, so it's been that way for as long as I've been playing. Still, that's somewhere around a year since the cross-world PF was introduced then? The original post saying "Now with the cross-server PF" made it sound like he thought it was something that had just been changed recently.

Patch 3.4 was Sept 2016, so it’s going on 2 years.

Nah I just mean the majority of the playerbase at end game is becoming, worse, and less inclined to actually join/form statics.
More so recently. Since recruiting now a days is in the PF
