I do not think RMT is going to catch on in this game. There is nothing people really need to buy. nothing is that hard to obtain and the items that are are untradeable.

gil is easy enough to come up with. I dont think these RMT will be making much money... In FFXI there was plenty of times i wish i had more gil. I didnt buy it but it definitely seemed lucrative. FFXIV not so much... which is good

Except it's been made clear that multi-melds are going to be better than U/U gear. So if you want the best gear, which people doubtless will, you'll want to pay 25mil for that multi-melded weapon.
