New ideas for DOL in battle quests!

    Hi All,

I’ve just come back to FFxiv after the patch and I'm enjoying it a lot. Combat is vastly improved. However I'm finding DOH classes tedious. Before launch I’d always seen the classes being useful out in the field but it sadly wasn’t so. To that end I came up with an idea to spice up discipline and thought I’d share my ramblings.

I think it would be great if they developed a new form of leve quests which involve both DOL and DOW/M. Take miner for example, a leve could involve securing/ digging a mine, where you have the DOW/M classes defending the DOL classes from waves of mobs while the miners digs their way through. For botanists you could have a quest where you have to take down wooden supports of a building to stop an invasion while again DOW/M defend. Fishing could involve hauling up treasure or lost munitions on to a boat while being attack by sea monsters of some description.

Please post any further elaborations/ innovations you think that would work......

Unfortunately, YoshiP is very nervous about the idea of mixed party. But in one of his longest letters to address this issue, he stated that he is willing to try it. Based on his current letter, that "try" may be Hamelet defense. We'll have to wait for details.

Thumbs-up thumbs-up thumbs-up. I don't see what the big deal about having mixed content is. Since you can change classes -anywhere-, all you have to do is hop on a DoW/DoM job for most of it and change to DoL/DoH when appropriate!

Does this mean I can go attack Ifrit as a botanist?
