Can confirm that Adders just threw the win to Maelstrom in my daily Seal Rock just now. It was sickening.

I agree with the constant switching to Mael for free wins. This often ends up making people feel like they have to queue up as Mael, and just as Mael if Adders or Flames can barely win.
I know friends who are Mael who have done it, and they are sickened by it. This is not healthy to have one GC be a winner for too long, it affects the queue times, pre-Freelancer queue times.
Just put Freelancer on permeantly. No need to have the option to queue as a GC anymore, stop people swapping to Mael, increasing queue times as they turn off freelancer and then boom, PvP is back to the infamous queue times of yore.

I'm just here to agree with this. I started as Flames and generally stuck with them through thick and thin, and I also used to do Frontlines a lot. However with the GC-jumping, it feels like the game is "switch to Mael and grind out your wins there". I CAN still win as Flames...if I play between 1am-3am EST.
If the winning tactic is "make sure you queue as the right team" or "queue while everyone is asleep and exclusively play 8mans for a fairer shot of winning" then something is definitely broken.

Ever since I swapped GCs from Mael to Adders like a jackass, I have a whopping 8% win rate. Now, I am not the best PvPer in the world but I put forth effort to work with the team to do what needs to be done. Surely that deserves more than 8% win rate. To put that in perspective, I played 12 games today over the course of 6 hours and only won ONCE. And that once was only because nodes spawned on top of us.
In total, since I started playing not on Mael, I have won 3 out of 40 Seal Rock games.
Surprise, if I freelance I never get put on Mael. You bet I am moving back immediately. It's incredibly demoralizing and a terrible example to people trying to get into PvP.

keep in mind though that queueing as just Mael tends to give me twice as long queues as opposed to having freelancer on. So it's not like there's no downsides
SE should start to look at matchmaking beforehand, premade shouldn't be against PUGs (no matter what company it is)
The problems I see with freelancers are they are not delicated to winning or they lack PvP knowledge. Even when players are given out directions, you see small groups of players wondering off on their own, which reduces the strengths of your GC against mael who sticks together. But I said this before, sometimes to win you need to lose. If both flames and adders just work together to make sure mael doesn't win, you will see a shift in player movements to other GC.

Miss the old days when there was like comradery and stuff with the grand companies.

But yeah that's not really a thing anymore with freelancing. Getting rid of them completely is probably the next logical step, mostly because at this point they really serve no purpose whatsoever, and at worst could be hurting queue times.

making every team always all freelancer might just make everything a big mess of people milling around with no guide whatsoever. Could cut away any fun there actually is to be had in frontlines.
Only, reason mael wins a lot is it seems to be only GC that doesn't queue freelancer so they get teams with a lot of the same people pretty often.
The funny thing about it is as more people switch to mael to "get wins" they also dilute that and increase queue times so mael a lot of the time has become "wait an hour to play with people worse organized than freelancers that also think they're going to get carried to a free win and have an awful attitude"
It's basically crushing itself and late at night there are teams of people on adders and flames doing the 'let's all queue at same time' strat too
People just need to go back to their proper grand companies and not queue freelancer and build some community, make the game reasonably ok for everyone
