Ultimate hiatus feedback

I mean. Hang on, let me just make a list of reasons to keep this CONTENT. One of the few kinds of content that people, unironically, "respect" more than others.

1. Great for memes (e.g. UWU, Elysium, Xenos vs. MrHappy)
2. Great for hardcore raiders (they wanted harder content, they got it through Ultimate)
3. Great for viewers (Twitch popularity/streams skyrocketed on views during Ult progging)
4. Great for other raiders (After finishing Savage, they have a tier that'll test them heavily and help them improve)
5. Great for crafters (ALL THE GEAR! MATERIA! GIIIILLLL!)
6. Great for FFXIV fight designer respect/fame (Just read the replies here; people loved the guy who made it)

You take away Ultimate, you get rid of a lot of good reasons.

Also, I don't have much time to get into raiding, but it's nice to see/talk about.

I'd like to see more difficult PvE content in the game. Sadly, the price of admission is fairly annoying. I came in late this tier and there's just no way for me to find a group capable of doing UWU to clear o8s as it's a requirement, but I like seeing the new fights.

Also it'd be a shame to see Elysium starving.

More Ultimate! only 2 fights per expension? that's one fight per year! how can that be "rough"?! Supposedly ultimate content is made for the more hardcore players whom I am sure are capable of handling more then one fight every six monhts! Even if the more casual players can feels "overwhelmed" when a new ultimate fight comes out and they haven't cleared the previous one, you can still continue to progress the old fights! They don't become any less dificult as new ones are released. And honestly, this content wasn't designed towards casual players, and while it's fine and cool the more people we have enjoying ultimate, maybe the opinion of those who only casually tackle into this content shouldn't be taken as the major feedback from the comunity when developing a fight for the smaller hardcore player base. (Regarding Yoshi-p's comment on how the comunity felt with a new fight every odd patch.)

Hope our word can reach the dev team and that they reconsider this decision.

I too am disappointed with the news of no ultimate fight for patch 4.5. I throw my name in the ring with the rest of those posting here in hopes that the devs will reconsider after hearing what the raiding community really does desire. Thanks for the great ultimate fights so far and keep up the good work!

I couldn't agree more. This kind of content is just VERY exciting to watch! Our group is getting into this as well for the first time and it's fun to do.

I am not a raider by any means, nor do I have plans to step a foot inside UCoB or UWU ever, but please do not put Ultimate on a hiatus.

I personally enjoy watching the streamers and rooting for my favorite teams for world first. Its amazing to see these fights and the people who are mad enough to challenge them.

I'm going to add my plus one to this. While I never really got to touch UCoB back in the day. With UwU coming out, all my Discords blew up with hype while watching the streams. Day 1 when the Awoken mechanic was first found out, we all freaked out because of how cool it was. Not only that but it keeps me entertained during the odd patches since I usually clear the raid pretty early.

I echo the sentiment of this thread and many who have posted here. I was extremely disappointed when i read that the interview that stated that Ultimate was going on hiatus. I hope that the dev team will reconsider their decision.

For me ultimate has been some of the most fun content in the game. It has rekindled the feeling that I got at the start of the game when I found out about raiding and aspired to get good enough to be able to do. The feeling of beating T9 was better than any other fight in the game until these.

Ultimate has had a lot of really positive effects on the game and the community within it. And rescinding on the promise of an ultimate fight at a time when the content is most sparse is a terrible idea. I was around for the lull in content at the end of ARR and the end of HW. The game was essentially dead for those months. Not only did I see many players quit over it, the ones who remained were terribly bored and the overall health and tone of the community was quite poor.

These fights add a reason to keep playing the game. It inspires new players to take up the game and inspires them to raid. It is a reason to improve your play to get good enough to one day challenge these. it is a reason to play through the savage content and get all of the best gear. it gives countless hours of entertainment to watch friends do the fights and playing through them yourself. They are also really fun to do even after you clear. it stimulates the game's economy as raiders will need a lot more food and pots. And it also just keeps people subbed and playing the game at a time where most people would have taken a break entirely. You would loose all of that over the year long break removing the 4.5 ultimate fight.

Ultimate brings in tons of viewers on Twitch and raises the viewer count for the FFXIV directory higher than it ever has been before. Not only is it content to keep players satisfied during the pre-expansion lull, it brings in many new players who will then see that there is an expansion coming out soon. This would be a huge marketing move to have the final expansion patch have content that brings alot of publicity to the game, along with keeping current players subbed and satisfied.
