I don't think there was anything wrong with how coil was done. Personally I wish Square would still gate content for people who hadn't cleared the previous piece of content solely because back then in 2.0 it was seen as a challenge to chase and not a wall to complain about. People were pushed back then because if they wanted to see the new content they had to be good enough to climb to get there. Sqauare pushed us back then, now its just give to everyone and they still complain :/
