Shouldn't happened. Even if people are able to figure who the FC leader is, OP himself hasn't named who he is. Not his fault SE requires us to list a character as part of our profile here on the forums.

They don't really need to punish them, but rather suggest they open the house up and allow OP to demolish their room so they can freely leave the FC. Granted the GM's would have to keep an eye on {Player} for X amount of days until they log in (unless they can move logged out characters into the Gaol).

SE owns all the data, they don't need permission to alter anything and thus shouldn't need to wait for the fc leader to log in and open it up. They can open it up and let him check to see if the room shows or not. If it doesn't, he'll have to wait for someone to either relink his character with the room, or clear out the connection so he can move on. Over a week is beyond pushing it, especially with no communication on SE's end of any progress.

Starting to wonder if it was intentional to leave John in the FC or if the bug prevented the leader from kicking him with everyone else and the lockdown is this person's way of avoiding confrontation from booting everyone out to make the house their own personal fc?

So ultimately, I contacted a GM, gave them the run down of the situation, and we found that the only solution was for the GM to forcibly demolish the room with all of the furnishings inside. Luckily, I never spent any real money on the items that furnished the room, but there was quite a bit of gil invested in those furnishings.

So it sounds like GMs can ultimately force demolish a room but in the case of OP, his room is bugged. On top of a design flaw (needing to demolish a room to leave an FC), he has a bugged room that the GMs can't touch.

I would think that but the deliberate rank names of those in the FC and the OP sorta... make me think otherwise.

Ya not sure why they can't find my room, I remember getting it like a year ago and putting the crystal tower throne in it as a gag when my fc had active members.

Really hope this changes soon, I've been trapped for over a month now. Lots of things I'm not able to do because my fc died and I can't join an active one or even try to recruit into mine, which is what I used to do back when I was the fc leader

Just going to throw this out there as a Hail Mary, but have you tried to retrieve your belongings from the housing NPC? Might be wishful thinking, but if the whole thing is bugged, it might be possible you did in fact get kicked from FC, your room got demolished (hence it not existing), and your belongings might be at the NPC to collect. Maybe with some dumb luck you'll be set free from your prison. Something to try at least, while you sit around and wait for a solution.

I hope the issue gets resolved for you in any case.

Nope doesnt work, tried that too. I think the problem is my room does exist but because I failed to enter it after I moved the fc house the gms cant find it

Don't forget it took SE almost 4 years to allow us to finally queue in duty finder with our Chocobos out.

This still existing doesn't surprise me one bit.

I think they're just plagued with spaghetti code from 1.0 so deeply entrenched it would take them burning this whole game down and starting over to fix every issue like this.

What I don't get is why the GM's can't force the issue to let you enter the house with the restriction that you only try to enter your room. If it works you can clear out your stuff and release it. Problem solved. If it doesn't work then they should be able to clean up the database entry for your character/FC to remove you from the FC. This might be beyond GM skills but there has to be someone associated with FF XIV who has the ability to do this as it wouldn't be the first time they've needed to do something similar.

They need to escalate this to the Special Task Force or someone in the housing or free company development team. You're being hosed by this wait game. The game isn't completely unplayable but you're missing out on a few features.
