Its funny you said that...

I do think Tanaka was on to something in 1 aspect....
before the game launched they were asking him about open world vs instanced content...
and he said "We've combined them both, Guild leves are open world but the actual MOBs are yours alone, just as if they were instanced"

Now I know guildleves became monotonous and repetitive... but what they represent... open world instanced content could be a good compromise for a lot of people if it was done right....

Truth? Oh right, you were in the office with him when he was making every little detailed decision. The day Naoki Yoshida accomplishes half as much as Hiromichi Tanaka has in his career, i'll care what he has to say.

That's not to say Tanaka shouldn't have A LOT of blame for what has happened, but I am tired of having this argument all you have to do is look at the interviews with Tanaka and Sage Sundi weeks and months before the release to know they were not satisfied with what was coming. Someone else pushed them to release the game.
