    combos and TP

I just his level 18 and I noticed an icon in my detrimental window that says preparing combo or some along those lines. Is there a certain combo we can do with our spells? Or is that icon for some thing else? And i'm not to sure what the TP is used for I notice it drops down while i'm not fighting?

    Thank you for any info.

Well, both Weaponskills (WS for short) and spells can be used in combos, but not together. If you look at the description of your abilities it will mention what abilities it forms a combo with! For example, Fire -> Fira forms a combo, Thunder -> Thundara another! (read the description of Fira and Thundara, it'll explain what benefits a combo gives to them).

TP is a resource, it is basically "Physical MP". You gain TP by getting hit and using your auto-attack (Also some other abilities, but those say that they do it). TP is utilized by Disciples of War to use their WSes, and it will rather rapidly drain if you're not in combat, but it also caps at 3000, with most abilities costing 1000~1500.

In adition, when a WS is usable in a combo, it will have it's TP cost temporarily reduced to 0. That does not happens with MP cost of spells, however.

TP is also expended for some Disciple of War abilities that are not weaponskills. The most useful for a Disciple of Magic is Second Wind, but another example is the Lancer-only skill Life Surge.

As was said, look in the spell descriptions to see what combos off of what. For mages it should be easy to figure out since all the combos are going from a lower to higher tier spell of the same element.

Since you are at least 18 THM, you should have Thundara by now. When you use Thunder (and are not resisted- this is important) you should get that "Readying Combo" icon on the top of your screen and Thundara on your Action Bar will get a purple glow around it. Hitting Thundara at this point will give you its combo effect: Increased damage and Reduced recast time if Thundara's Stun effect fails to land. (Also just FYI, it's best to use Parsimony right before landing the final hit on your Combo).

For other Combos, keep in mind that you have to fulfill all bonus conditions for the move in order to start the combo, and you can't start combos from the middle.

Example: Concussive Blow does more damage from the front, so you have to use it while in front of the enemy to start a Combo.

Example 2: The thunder spell line combo goes Thunder > Thundara > Thundaga. You can't make a combo starting from Thundara to Thundaga, you have to start with Thunder.

It helps to rearrange your action bar so these moves are close together if you play with a gamepad. It probably helps if you're on keyboard, too.
