Get rid of the pillars in the walls of all houses.
Or at least put them flush to the wall.
They serve no function other than to annoy.
Thank you.

I agree it would be nice if they were gone but I suspect removing them at this point would cause other problems that would make players equally unhappy. Rebuilding the programming code for the walls will affect more than just the pillars. Implementing the code might then create another aquarium "black hole" type situation where items placed get sucked into a void along with the pillars.
If removing the pillars would mean screwing up items I've already spent a considerable amount of time placing, I'd be inclined to leave the pillars alone. The only way I'd be happy about it is if a lot of other requested housing changes related to furnishings and furnishing placement were implemented at the same time so I'd want to remove everything and start over from scratch anyway.
I also wouldn't assume they serve no purpose from the programming side. They're a strange feature to implement arbitrarily. If they were purely arbitrary and solely for decorative purposes, I would have expected them to be spaced differently between the different architecture types.
My educated guess is that the pillars are there to serve as predetermined size for wallpaper. So that they don't need to spend time making different textures for the same wallpaper for different length walls. They can just take that slice between the pillars and repeat as much or little as needed.I also wouldn't assume they serve no purpose from the programming side. Which would probably make removing them a pain in the butt.
It has nothing to do with the wallpapers, if you put any of the papers on the blank partitions and line them up, they match up fine. you can see that if the pillar was removed on the alpine walls the paper would still match up.
if the pillars (both large and small) were taken off in the picture above nothing would look amiss because the wallpaper texture "continues" underneath the pillars. it's something se decided they liked visually and for some reason will not remove. At least give us the option to take them out![]()
I would settle for being able to dye pillars and other built-in detailing in housing interiors, but it could be interesting to have 'interior walls' that change the look inside of a house the same way 'exterior walls' remodel the outside? Especially since the exterior walls already change interior details like the windows and doors, so it would be nice to be able to have everything match.
Would be nice, or at least if we could have an “interior trimming” fixture that we could choose from several styles like with walls and ceiling lighting, so that we could at least match it up to the look we’re trying to go for.

I'd like this a lot. I don't mind the pillars, but being in the goblet gives me large sandstone pillars that I really don't like the look of, if I could at the very least change them to Riviera or glade versions, it would be a great improvement
