Map Marking, {Yes, Please!}

I'm all for map marking. Another thing that is kinda related to this is being able to show your party members a location on the map, though it's a bit difficult to implement for gamepad/PS3 users.

I was thinking of coding a quick 'transparent background' text input program that could stay over the screen to sort of act as a method of marking the map because being able to remember locations via notes is key in a game world of this size. Obviously I didn't do this because of the 99 other problems it would cause, but that's how desperate I got at one point.
