Yes, I could also cherry pick asinine and casual topics from reddit alongside Stat weight discussions, raid discussions, dps advice and guides, basically all the raider stuff that isn't discussed here.

Saying there isn't anything worthwhile on reddit is blissfully dense. Where would you go for a basic guide on a class you wanted to learn. Here? Please. The best options are reddit and a certain discord which you can find via... Reddit.

I didn't say there wasn't anything worthwhile on reddit, I said its mostly fluff. Because it is. I post on r/ffxiv regularly. Open a tab with it right now: commissions, houseposting, interviews/translated interviews, screenshots, memes, fashion report & the weekly rage thread. Meanwhile, there are several dissent threads, complaint posts, and other such things here and the people who created them have not been banned. Clearly SE is not banning people for being critical of their product. I love that people who say they were banned always say that the forums are a hive mind safe room, yet reddit is the worst place ever in terms of down voting unpopular opinions and the "way things should be"

Also, there is a healthy discussion in the role sections of the forums on job balance and there are also guides there. Reddit doesn't have the monopoly on that.

Agreed on the monopoly point. However, a hell of a lot of players are still banned from being able to contribute to discussion here. Some for seemingly weird reasons, as I linked in the first post.

I refuse to go there...and when I do..its only for a few seconds at a time and in full bio-hazzard gear.
Sorry...but I can find my answer's elsewhere more easily..and the stuff I search for that end up on reddit - is useless and not at all helpful.

In all my time playing MMOs, I have learned that people rarely tell the truth behind the reason why they were banned. The threads of "OMG I WAS PERMA-BANNED FOR NO REASON!" are usually quite entertaining when it comes to light that they were actually doing bad things.

I do realize that innocent people may sometimes get caught in the net, however, it seems a bit less likely when it comes to forum posting. People need to realize that SE likes to keep this place G/PG rated. If you're tossing out swear words or causing issues, there's a good chance you'll at least get reported by someone, which may then lead to a ban of some sort. We don't know how many infractions it takes to work up to a perma-ban, but it's probably best to not test your luck.
