Yoshi-P reveals the fate of Ishgard Housing, new summons, and much more

Hey guys!

I had the super awesome opportunity to interview Yoshi-P this week at E3. We went over a ton of stuff like housing, the possibility of new summons, new platforms, the Monster Hunter event, and so much more. Some of the answers may surprise as they certainly surprised me!

Something I really wish they'd done is give us a room at Fortemps Manor - functionally like an inn room, speak to a person and get transported there. The story seems to indicate that we're staying at the manor (and one of the post-HW side stories has Alphinaud there in 'his room'), even though the format of the game doesn't really allow for showing it, so having a room there would help emphasise that instead of us having to go to the dingy inn if we want somewhere to stay.

Well he says if they add a new housing area someday, but they currently have no plans to add a new area.

Then the author says that based on knowing that they have 2 years planned, then it means it wouldn't happen anytime soon, not even for the expansion (though this part is the author extrapolating and not something specifically said by Yoshi-P, but I would also figure this interpretation to be correct it probably won't happen in the next 2 years).

So no it's not a "no". It's a "if we ever add another area someday, it'll be Ishgard" - just no timeframe on when that "someday" might ever be.

At one point, he did mention to me that they typically plan ahead in a two year plan but I didn't include it because I wanted to elaborate on it with him but we ran out of time.

that's the thing. "If we ever" and "someday". 2 years is a long, long time where it could happen like Shirogane, we're in a new city state and Ishgard gets pushed back again for the new city state housing area. Or they could just scrap the idea period. So I am not keeping any hope up for it until I'll see it
