    Personally, given the aesthetic, I always thought of it as Dark Knight not relying on other people. It's the the solo vigilante class. It's ability to protect is narrow, its focus in Heavensward was on disabling / debuffing an enemy rather than protecting the party directly, and it just didn't play nice with anyone.

    Given that DRK has pathetic self-healing on single targets, the only invulnerability of the three tanks that kills them without help, and can throw shields on others almost at will with TBN, it's really the least independent of the tanks now.
