The issue I take with this is that the majority of this game is already content that everyone can partake in and clear/enjoy. I think it’s unfair to deny those that want more the more they want when the majority of this game’s playerbase are catered to already. Both Extremes and Savage has gotten less difficult with each passing release because the developers wanted more players to try it—but more players wouldn’t until they eased up on the difficulty. Now Savage feels pretty vanilla for the people that want more. Why should they be denied more when Ultimate isn’t impacting the content the majority gets to enjoy anyways? If you’re wanting intermediate-hard, the Extreme trials and Savage is already providing that (especially the first two to three floors of Savage).

If we aren’t going to get an Ultimate in 4.5, then I expect them to make a fifth and/or sixth tier for the final installment of Omega, and make it challenging—I’d prefer something close to Brute Justice level but I doubt that will happen. But, otherwise, we end up with Creator where there is months and months of nothing to do.

Instead of targeting the minority few that can play 20 hours a day, they should target people with normal playing hours.
Speaking as someone who was progging UCoB up to Sigmascape’s release for only 2 lockouts 5 days a week (so a total of 20 hours per week) in the evenings, not everyone no-lifes Ultimate. You can’t get very far on a fight like it with only a couple hours worth of prog a week, no, but you don’t need 20+ hours a day to clear it either.

World firsts also didn’t spend 20+ hours a day on it either. They did 16~18, with one group doing 21 on the day they cleared because they were that close to a clear.

Nobody is going to care about Ultimate titles or Ultimate weapons after a week.
You can say this, but that doesn’t make it true. Up to Sigmascape’s release, people were actively progging and clearing UCoB. Once the majority of raiders cleared Sigmascape, they started throwing together UCoB groups again. And when UwU was announced, they started making UCoB+UwU groups, and there are still advertisements on a variety of social media platforms advertising for LFG and LFM and have been for several weeks now. Just because you don’t care about the weapon or titles doesn’t mean that “nobody” does. Speak only for yourself, please.

16-18 hours a day is not a really healthy amount of time to play. That is more time spent than a hedge fund manager spends a day at work.

At the end of the day, none of this gear means anything. None of my real life friends and families outside of FFXIV care about beating a virtual dragon.

The irony is that a lot of these world prog groups have meal plans and scheduled breaks in attempts to stay healthy and focused while progging a fight.

Good for your friends and family? None of mine outside of FFXIV really care either, but they also don’t try to dictate what people in FFXIV do or do not care about either, nor what is considered an achievement or fun for them. I would suggest that you try doing the same.

Playing a video game for 18 hours a day does not seem weird to you? Actually doing any task for 18 hours straight is abnormal.

Why are you bringing this up? Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything.

None of my family and very few friends care about my KoMs on Strava either (Yes, raiders can actually be rather athletic).

Doesn't take away one bit from the achievement I feel over them.

I think it's fine this way.

While I haven't done Ultimate (yet?), I still enjoy the community buzz of following those that do, don't get me wrong. And it's not like I particularly care about only getting 1 dungeon because of that either, because while dungeons are nice the first 3 or so times they quickly shed their guise into the same trash smash with maybe 1 cool new boss mechanic. That said, I agree that the amount of people clearing it means making it a staple for every single odd patch is a bit much. Two per expansion is plenty enough. The .5 patches at the tail end of the expansions especially suffer the longest dry patches while the next expansion is finalised, so I think it's best that the time and resources go into bolstering casual content at that point in the patch cycle.

Fair enough they wish to cut content, but why not tell us what will replace said content in the upcoming patches. I hope they are not planing on using this so called "community" response as a reason to simply provide less content.

As much as I understand the whole "so few people have done the fight there's no need for more" I don't really agree

As long as they keep the fight extremely hard by preventing player to enter with better gear/ higher level (for Bahamut it's locked to lv70 ilv 345 max), I don't think the number of player that will clear that content will raise by much over the course of the expension simply because you can't overgear the fight.

In other words, if the number of player doing the content is the reason why they should do more / less of that content, they should simply stop doing it because there won't be more player doing it (not a lot i mean)
I'd like to give it a shot one day, perhaps this summer when i'll be done with university

I just hope it means we get something else instead. Over time, it feels like a lot of things are being reduced and spread out. We used to get multiple hairstyles with each new patch, now we only get two - and in recent patches they've both been very feminine or androgynous in their design. That's despite increased character customisation being a major talking point.

I don't use any of that stuff you just mentioned. I didn't even know it existed. Nor did I even ask about it. I just use act to practise openers and get my rotation correct.

So again, my original question that you ignored. How is knowing my personal raw damage cheating?

In response to your question that also has nothing to do with me asking about dps numbers: Yes, I absolutely will look up a guide/video/diagram/walkthrough about a fight I don't know. Especially if I'm planning to join a pug.
