On-topic, they should toss a few bunny-boys in the GS. Why not? It would be fun, and I'm sure the writers would come up with amusing things for them to say. And maybe Godbert and Julyan could wear matching bunny suits the next time they make a cameo in a seasonal event or sidequest!

But male attractiveness is more about musculature that is wider and more dynamic, and the fishnets generally work against them. It softens and smooths what makes them attractive. The bustiers are designed to prop up a woman's chest and emphasize it, while ends up breaking up the male's pecs and hiding the abs.
I daresay the fishnets work for both, but have been historically associated with women. What works about them is the way they stretch (and the open areas expand) over protrusions. This works for a woman's ample butt and hips, but also works for men's muscles, too. I just wanted to say that part. I don't think it's about the smoothing effect, more about highlighting how the underlying structures protrude, be they fat or muscle.

That being said, the way the bunny suit was just copied wasn't my favorite choice. I would have preferred it to do more about exposing what (typically) men can that women can't, the chest. Like a chest window or something dramatic, with abs and pecs in full view. Oh, and nipple textures. Because men can totally do that and women can't! Oh oh, and maybe little puffs of steam or sweat, that would be sexy.

I think poster was using it as "very very ugly" not "offense to nature and the moral order." Hyperbole. Usually i put a lot of posts through a hyperbole filter. It would be stuff like moral degenerate i'd be worried about.

I think there is a point to this in general for tight fitting stuff, but I find I don't have the same issues with monocolored spandex on guys. There is a leather black pants set in game which can look really good on them. I notice most people who use the fishnets are miqote or aura, who are the lither of the male races. I actually havent seen rogs, humes, and highlander males much at all with them.

I'm kind of just theorizing off the cuff here. I do notice some times fishnets can be attractive on guys, but they use it a lot for a specific texture in more of a complicated pattern overall. Like if the thighs are deemphasized anyways due to a ornate jacket or boots, it can work well in my opinion because it brings balance back. Im hard pressed to find an example though. I guess for me the best sort of that kind of male fashion is rooted in otome games, and that its more about evoking a type of character or feeling more. Its good to think on this stuff in general sometimes, because clothing we all take for granted, yet it has so much power to shape people's attitudes.

All these folks in this topic perfectly happy to have female eye-candy, but deny the ladies their snack?

I'm comfortable enough in my own sexuality to say "let the ladies have their service".

They're probably gonna lock this thread soon with all the hostility and name calling. lol
My opinion? Equality is great let's do it. But those bunny suits look stupid on dudes. I'd rather see them in a dress at this point.

Right there, you mention a fashion trend that came and went! In your post!

Why is it so hard to understand that "attractiveness" is extremely subjective and malleable and influenced by cultural norms that may not be healthy. Having tastes is good and fine, but not when you act like your truth is the only truth. Guys in bunny suits may be ugly to you but enough people piped up about it that it was actually implemented in-game. Why isn't that proof enough for y'all to realize maybe... different people have different tastes and they can all co-exist just fine?

Well, that's a matter of your personal tastes, but that IS the main point towards the outfit. To give the "feeling" of being sexy or provocatively attractive. I mean, they're just playing off of the casino show girls and playboy bunny image. Outfits like those bleed the image of attraction, vanity, and beauty of the body.

It's also at the discrepancy of SE as a company to define just how far that they want to take it, if you're coming into XIV and expecting Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball levels in terms of sex appeal, you're nuts.

This thread has devolved into people calling eachother weirdos and perverts around page 8 or so, and has strayed off the main topic.

The fact is, you guys waited so long for the bunny outfit for men, but you'll be waiting even longer for them to even bother with something like changing the male npc wear. I am entirely neutral on this honestly as all my characters range from full plate armor to at the most revealing is a pair of short shorts, and my immersion isn't ruined by dudes in heels and bunny ears. A suggestion like this is one that people will forget about in a month or so, because it's not really a hot topic (but extremely controversial, as always).

I imagine a lot of people are fine with male candy. They just want it to be done in a way that compliments the male form and conforms to conventional forms of attractiveness. The bunny outfit does nothing for me on either gender as a bisexual guy. I do have a stronger preference for men, though - so I'd be more pleased with something that shows off flesh without being exceedingly feminine in nature.
