Latin America ping issues still unresolved

    Hello.

We are still having a lot of ping issues from South America ISP. Telefonica is sending us to a route to Europe before going into NA servers. Since data center relocation, we played with 300 ping, after a while they fixed it, but then it came back to even worse ping till now. At this moment South American Telefonica linked ISP people, are playing with more than 310-350 ping. It feels very frustrating to play. Already called ISP, and posted in a now-closed thread in this forums about that, but not response from anyone.

Do we still keep hope for them to do something?
    Thanks in advance!

I don't think they ever will.
I am from Brazil and play this game for about 4 years on a European server, and yeah, these whole years I'm dealing with 240ms+ ping.
And now is even worse because European servers are suffering again with packet loss.
Yeah I can feel the frustrating, specially now that I'm raiding the new ultimate. I die a bunch of times because of ping and that frustrates me a lot... And to be honest, they know that people play with this much of latency and they still make fights with 100ms ping based.
Anyways, I think the double weaving and dodging AoEs on the last second will stay in our dreams, my friend... At least for a while.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Unfortunately, Square Enix doesn't have control over how you are routed to the servers. Your ISP should be sending you along the shortest route. I'm not sure why they would be sending you through Europe if your destination is in the United States.

When did this start happening again?

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

You should post a tracert to the FFXIV servers to see exactly how your pathed.

Open command prompt on your computer and type this into it.

    tracert 204.2.229.97

This will show your connection pathing to the server and you can then easily find out what your route is.

This is my tracert from my home to Aether.

    Traza completa.

You can see that is sends me to amsterdam before sending me back to USA (ae-8.r25.amstnl02.nl.bb.gin.ntt.net). This happens since server relocation, after a while it got normal again, and then, like 6 monthes ago, it went back to this. Can this be fixed somehow?

Before you hit the NTT network you hit this node here...

    9 324 ms 248 ms 247 ms ae1-0-ntt-grtamstc1.net.telefonicaglobalsolutions.com [213.140.53.97]
That seems to be the point where your ISP hands off your connection to NTT. You can call your ISP to learn more about that point specifically and ask them routing questions. But if NTT controls your connection and routes you elsewhere that might be SE's ISP instead. In which case a moderator might be able to forward this information to NTT. But I don't see any action taken on their behalf.

Contact your ISP and ask about the hand off point. See if you can get any info that you can post here to help the moderator team.
