Funny Insight about the Fashion Report (from an interview with Yoshi P)

This came from one of the recent interviews with Yoshi P at E3 - regarding the Fashion Report and potential plans to expand on it:

"The issue we have is, say for example, in one particular week, the theme is summer vacation and then the expected answer to give you a maximum score is… something that you can’t believe is the answer to the theme. The sensibility of the person making the themes and assignments… if their sensibility is horrible, it causes an issue.

We tried to make adjustments to alleviate this, but unfortunately I can’t check the minute content every week. With the update, we also need to find a developer that has better fashion sense, or have the current person polish their sense of fashion. While they do that though we might have issues where their taste is really horrible… so it’s pretty tough."

I had no idea that there was an actual person behind assigning what the weekly theme is. I had always figured it was a smattering of possible themes and their associated clothing all randomized for the week to create something resembling "fashion".

So it seems there is a real-life Redolent Rose!

This was pretty 'lol' for me. Fashion is so heavily reliable on point of view and personal preference I'm not surprised a real person is behind it.

Now for me to find out more about this persons personal style so I can begin to win every future fashion event......

Looking back on the items I've gotten 80+ with, I think they need a new fashion report guy.

Well, that helps some of the combinations we've seen make more sense. Considering the huge number of items to choose from, it's been strange that certain items have been repeated more than once and not with themes they fit.

I think the speculation at reddit has been similar to yours - some sort of table the game would draw from randomly for theme, then random pick items that had been tagged as appropriate for that theme. instead we've got someone who's probably been subconsciously trying to find ways to keep using some of their personal favorites.

I don't think the person who's been responsible has as bad a fashion sense as people want to make it sound. There have been some combinations that seemed really bizarre "on paper" but when I equipped the items the outfit turned out to be pretty cute. And others that looked horrible on me but looked good on races other than lalafell.

It's got to be difficult to make choices when some items look radically different on different races even if the gender is the same (Hempen Camise is a good example).
