Eureka may be flawed but I really like it

I've been playing this game since 1.0 alpha, but one thing that grows tiresome about 2.0 in particular is that with most content being instanced dungeon based where you have to rushrushrush as if you're a speed runner and go through the usual tunnel of 20-30 minutes nonstop gameplay... ugh I've done this so many times over the years but Eureka is different.

It's much more relaxing and I feel like I don't have to play at an aggressive pace or anything, and I also have time to take a minute break when I need to without hindering others cause the goal isn't linear for everyone as everyone has their own progression.

The instant queues for all jobs is another thing I really enjoy too.

TBH I can get why people might dislike it, but for me? It's the most refreshing content I've seen since Deep Dungeon and I love it.

I think biggest problem is +3 level level sync make you too OP for the NM. You can literally burn the boss down without doing any mechanics.

That was changed in 4.3, NMs live a lot longer and with less people on the train than before (I normally see a few parties opt to do the challenge log instead) it can make higher NMs more difficult and lower NMs actually show off their mechanics like on day 1. I even had a scare the other day when MTing Hazmat where I tunnel visioned on the boss and when I looked up everyone around me was dead or near dead, would have deleveled myself if it weren't for a clutch healer showing up just in time.

I enjoy it too, especially after the last batch of QOL updates. Bosses are actually doing all their moves (The Serket fight is fun!) and I can see almost everyone now. The biggest thing needed is an eLev sync, with the ability to sync the party down to the lowest players level I feel more options for leveling will reopen. I like the Challenge logs too, its a nice way to add quest type exp without the beat-you-over-the-head markers.

I was really curious to see if Pagos will still require you to go back to Anemos, that would help keep the content lively. Either way, since they released Eureka, I hardly touch roulette's unless my FC mates need help leveling.

I get why some people dont like it and thats fine, its designed to appeal to a particular crowd and i think it succeeds quite well at it. Its not FFXI 2.0 but I think it is the closest we will come in the framework of FFXIV. My only regret with this is this wasnt the open world model from the launch of FFXIV 2.0.

"Even though this content is in fact a boring, predictable and reskinned mess, I actually do enjoy it because I can relax". Sorry to say this, but people give the weirdest reasons as to why they think Eureka is enjoyable and almost none of them involve core design of gameplay. I personally don't see it. That isnt' to say that people aren't allowed to enjoy.

But for me, monsters are boring, mechanics are boring, reskinned and reused versions of pretty much everything. Loot system after a while becomes tedious / non rewarding. Relic gear another complete reskin you can dye. Elemental reel brings very little complexity. Maps are a dozefest and except for the FATES and fairy, there is almost no reason to explore but to quests. Active participation isn't really encouraged and spawning NM is often due to the goodwill of a minority while the majority just leeches. Level disparity adds onto this. There is just so much wrong with Eureka in my opinion that I can muster up very little reasons as to why this would be enjoyable. It's just killing the same mob dozens, if not hundreds of times to kill another mob by usually using 1-2-3. If I wanted something relaxing, I'd go fish. Content is not good because people feel relaxed. It's not good because people are speaking to each other.

I never said it was boring lmao that was something you invented for how you felt.

I also find it ironic you are saying "predictable and reskinned" when dungeons are essentially that in a lot of cases. Apples and oranges.

I played it a bit more, and while i still think it has flaws, I see why people like it.

For one thing there's a lot more interaction between players, and more of a community spirit. You give players rides, raise them, heal impromptu tanks, pull mobs, maybe even pinch heal as a rdm or pinch tank/pull as a dps. There's a social aspect that is very missing in this game, even in hunts.

And...well it gets rid of the endless tryhardism from the savage brigade.

Worried about dps? too bad, the mobs go down faster than your normal rotation. Want to try out a different jon? its only 300 cap and you're not hurting anyone. Its the netflix and chill of this game, and its good if you are stressed a lot.

Its still got problems, but it grows a lot on you.

Not a fan, between it being another mindless fate train and the fact that it was delayed for so long, its just a boring slog at all times (most of the time you stand there for up to 30 mins doing absolutely nothing until a fate pops) Put it this way, my expectations were very low and I still feel disappointed in how it turned out.

Also, getting one shot by literally everything because you are practically required to follow the fate train into areas that just kick your ass isn't my idea of fun, maybe at level 20 its a bit better, but levelling is just painful.
