    I don't like racing games
Just decided you didn't want to read what I wrote? I asked for specifics.

Content is designed for more than yourself deal with it. I've said plently that PVP is trash tier content for me but I don't ask for them to stop working on it even though imho it would be the best thing ever since it won't ever work, but honestly I deal with it since it's fine that not everything in a MMO is designed to be of my liking or suit the masses.
Heck remove savage then it only works for 10% of the playerbase! I mean seriously....
Let's approach this a different way, since I'm starting to wonder if you're merely arguing to appear edgy and cool, or if you actually believe the drivel that you type. You clearly aren't reading what I am typing because you keep mentioning this 'stop working' nonsense when I clearly explained that wasn't what I was saying.

Please - answer this question for me (a simple A OR B will suffice). Do you:

    A) Believe that designing MMO content for an isolated narrow audience is a better solution? This would mean getting rid of both normal (so ARR CoB raids) and 24 man raids, and removing the "harder" floors of PotD to keep low difficulty consistent. Removing EX trials and only having story trials.

    or

    B) Believe that designing MMO content for a multiple playstyles is better. I.e. having normal mode raids and Savage, harder floors in PotD, Eureka with more than just FATEs/AFK Train, etc.

If you're answer is A I want to see you say it. Loud and clear that you believe that to be the better solution. If your answer is B then we agree and you look like an idiot for arguing when you agree.

Please - choose an answer. Show me where you stand.

Lov is overxtending because they wanted to add too many things to the table just making it a short minigame would've made it too popular instead they wanted to make several pointless additions to it for no reason
To be abundantly clear - you're advocating that if LoV was 30s to 1 minute long it would be "too popular".

I have no rebuttal for this. You saying this says it better than I ever could.

Duty recorder is not really a bad thing but they limited the use of it to 1 duty alone/patch for apparently no reason, they made you impossible to watch it unless you are in an inn, otherwise it would be very useful to raiding, True you can do that already with twitch and other media, but it's not a bad thing per se only the implementation has been ass
Bad implementations can make even the greatest things bad.

I don't know that they take infos from streams, I DO know that they watch them, I DO know they've been using them for promotions too as such they DO use them in some forms. Yes it's my opinion but I have enough evidence to make the claim that companies have been using streamers as Class A gamers for some times now and eprsonally speaking I'm not okay with this. Ofc they also take infos from other sources I'm not saying that streamers are the only source, but considering how streamers were invited in the press conference well I do think that they hold them in high esteem
Streamers are invited because they are a cheap and easy mass dissemination of information and hype, not because they're aggregates of community information. IMO of course.

That's a flawed argument and you know it though. For instance Ultimate may be something barely any of the population touches, but it BY AND FAR brings the most exposure to the game; which is good for the game. Your suggestion would lead to a mass exodus of the raiding community which would not be good for the game btw, but I know would be good for you (bias and all).

The Duty Recorder was something introduced too late into the lifecycle of the game. It is still the only way as PS4 user can do anything remotely like what some pc players do with unauthorized tools.

It has two uses that SE kinda missed the boat on
    1) Machinima, this kind of thing would have made "Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light: Season 1" that much easier to produce, as the game engine could be used to play back any arbitrary combat or overworld data, and to make "cleaner" videos, one could change NPC's or players to protect their privacy or exaggerate a gag or something.
    2) Combat replay, which is what it seems like it was designed for, but someone could produce an unauthorized tool to record all the incoming packet data and then play it back on the client offline and accomplish the same thing. Since the current version is tied to the maintenance cycle, it seems like it literately does something like this, where it's playing back the data as it was recorded, and is thus not compatibile after maintenance due to whatever minor adjustments or cleanup is done.

The Duty Recorder could easily be the next best thing for video producers the game has where you could play the Duty on the PS4, and then replay it on a PC at 4K later to produce your youtube video, and have the game client render the video slower and higher quality than recording it live would.
I'm inclined to agree with your Machinima point. I think it'd be a good marketing tool for the community. Not to mention user created content goes a long way, something SE would do REALLY well to adopt.

Regarding the PS4 thing. PS4 users can pretty trivially save recordings of their play sessions...

Eureka is a feature of stormblood, but not a core content of the game, it's a side content, the core of the game is rapresented by it's content and it's gear progression and will always be about raids, which is why nothing in the patch cycle can ever go beyond that power level or else we've seen that with the diadem weapons backlash. Also I refuse to call anything coming so late in the expansion to be a core of the game. It's a sidecontent at best but nothing more

I can't be more specific than this, I don't like racing games as such I'm not interested in them in any way, If you think that what you want would make chocobo racing better suit yourself, won't change my mind though.

I answer C which is a middle of both, I hope my sarcasm was taken in when I asked for the removal of savage but I guess I should've been clearer, but honestly I think that making things black and white is not a good way of handling anything, my point in fact is that an MMO should find a balance in what it does and atm FFXIV is too much casual imho. Some content should have multiple gamestyle yes, but designing for a narrower audience is not a bad thing either. I don't remember what you think about ultimate, but it's a resounding success more than anything SE ever added to the game and it's clearable byu 1% of the community. In the same way Mythic argus and other mythic bosses were clearable by that much ppl on wow in all of it's history (though nice of blizzard of extra buffing all ppl from now till BFA btw that allowed argus kills to be x4 in a matter of days).
I'd rather see an end to the casual vs hardcore nonsense mentality of late but I digress

I'm saying that a minigame shouldn't last too long, you are not buying FFXIV to play LOV

It's what I'm saying, I'm not defeding the recorder in it's current state, I'm saying that we shoudln't berate the idea but we should breate how it was implemented

What you say it's true, but it doesn't deny what I'm saying, It's why speedrunner streamers of KH3 were invited to KH3 event and were asked what they thought about the game after the play sessions. Since they create a talking community with ppl, they are a group of ppl that have an opinion of a game as such it's an aggregation and they can be used effectively as a feedback source.

I never said it was core content to the game (that's a reductive statement anyway), I clearly specified core feature of the expansion, to which it is, no matter what our personal opinions are (because I actually agree that I wouldn't call it that, but SE does, therefore it is).

I can't be more specific than this, I don't like racing games as such I'm not interested in them in any way, If you think that what you want would make chocobo racing better suit yourself, won't change my mind though.
If your level of critical thinking prevents you from providing specifics on why you don't like racing games, than I'll say this frankly. Your opinion on the topic should never have been stated. If you have no investment in that aspect of the game, you shouldn't have wasted my time or yours commenting on how you disagree with something you have no interest or investment in.

I answer C which is a middle of both
This is not a valid answer. You either believe that reductive design is better (i.e. common denominator design) or robust design is better (i.e. built ground up, and add common denominator later).

    So which is it?

but honestly I think that making things black and white is not a good way of handling anything, my point in fact is that an MMO should find a balance in what it does and atm FFXIV is too much casual imho.
It's not a black and white or a them vs. us. You're not understanding what I am saying. It's very simple. You have to decide on a overarching design methodology at some point. SE chose to do a reductive design where most (honestly, if not all) content is designed for a very specific isolated narrow purpose and is such either A) dead on arrival due to the limited participants not liking it or B) dead later because it's built for a singular purpose for a singular playertype and wears off really quickly.

Some content should have multiple gamestyle yes, but designing for a narrower audience is not a bad thing either. I don't remember what you think about ultimate, but it's a resounding success more than anything SE ever added to the game and it's clearable byu 1% of the community.
I love the idea of Ultimate, but not the implementation. I'm old now so 20 minute boss fights aren't really fun for me anymore. They were never really fun back in my teens/20s either though. My static and I (filthy casuals) made it to Ifrit in less than 3 hours of prog, but they wanted to push a 3 day a week schedule to clear it and I really wanted 1-2. I really liked the pacing of UwU, but it's honestly still 4 minutes too long IMO. I even think half of Savage bosses are too long, and don't even get me started on how long the normal versions take. (easily 10-12+ minutes).

That said - please understand that I do understand and agree that designing SOME content for a narrow audience is ok. I just don't think the existing design schema where all content is designed for a narrow audience is the best approach.

I'd rather see an end to the casual vs hardcore nonsense mentality of late but I digress
? Where was this brought up anywhere? I'm as casual of a player as one can be.

I'm saying that a minigame shouldn't last too long, you are not buying FFXIV to play LOV
I get that I do, but at the same time, why can't it be? Why can't Bliztball be such an awesome minigame that it could have been a full standalone title? That to me sounds like strong design and an enticement to get players back in etc. Same with something like Bo' racing, Squadron stuff, etc.

So I need to answer your question depending on how you like them? I gave you a perfect explanation on many topics if you want the answers YOU want I'm done.
Also btw if a core feature needs to be released in 2 patches after release MAYBE it wasn't a core feature afterall. BTW I'm still waiting on the dance studio for wotlk, the one that was on the box and was announced as a feature but NEVER happened. So no, if it was sent back this far It wasn't a core feature at all or else it would've been on release. For all we know they could've scrapped it like the dance studio.

Also don't ignore that I've said that if you believe that your additions would make chocobo race more fun I have no qualms against it, I just said it won't bother me eitherway

I just want some new hair options that look absurd on a male character. I finally caved in and switched to a female character (something I have never done) because the options for males are pretty much nonexsistant.

I am now convinced the devs are truly out of touch. Not only are events relying more and more on terrible rewards that not everyone can enjoy(or are even original) but they are turning to the mogstation and eventually their app, for locking fashion items behind. when trust is sacrified on the altar of profits, no one wins.

    Is it?

Before the mogstation was around there were plenty of fashion pieces that players could wear regardless of whether they were a mage or fighter, and the crafter gears were available for everyone, but since then and even more so into SB, there are needless restrictions placed upon those gears for the sake of spreading it out, with some pieces not ever being available.

You mean lvl 1-30 gear? Because after that it pretty much got role locked. Been that way ever since. And they role locked crafting and gathering gear because people kept wearing it in dungeons to spiritbond, effecting the rest of the group...
