Yeah, it's always been in high performance, and always plugged in.
Can't seem to locate any optional updates Funny enough, seems like Windows 10 doesn't have the same functionality as previous version with regards to centralizing optional update settings. I'd have to download some extra third party software just to check for optional updates (few, if any, I ever actually found personally necessary, but that's just me).
Funny enough, I may just consider instead reverting to a previous version of Windows 10, when game functionality was not impaired.
Appreciate the assistance, but it sounds like we've reached a point where SE help isn't the solution, and it's just Windows being Windows.
Fortunately it's not any sort of game breaking error preventing me from playing. Just a strange little hiccup when closing that I thought I'd bring up in case it merited any sort of compatibility troubleshooting. Kinda hoped the errors themselves might offer enough hints to the source of the problem, but I suppose you only have access to so many tools to help remotely problem solve.
Actually, let's google around a little bit. And what do I find? Looks like users have reported the same error previously, with no real solution ever found.
Some of the results I'm seeing that are related to Final Fantasy XIV seem to be rooted in reshading mods or software or whatever. I don't fall into that category, as I've never installed any such programs. But I may try reducing graphics settings to see if that changes anything.
Additionally have found information suggesting I should have uninstalled previous NVIDIA drivers prior to installing the latest version. Not sure how reliable/necessary this step may have been.
So, dunno what solution, if any, previous users ever found, but I would figure if it's not being discussed as an ongoing issue, they must've managed some sort of resolution.
In any case, unless you can come up with any more ideas, it might just be up to me to continue digging around until I hit on some useful nugget of information.
