So, another fun thread to keep people in a light-hearted mood. We all know that everything in life has common term we use to refer to those things, shortenings, local terms, cultural terms, etc. So what terms and various forms of jargon do we commonly use?

Here are a few I recall:

RAIDS
T1-T13 - Refers to a "turn" in The Binding Coil of Bahamut raid
A1-A12 - Refers to a section of the Alexander raid
Gordias/Midas/Creator - refers to the specific section of the Alexander raid
Brute Justice - Another way of saying A8, since he is the final boss
Ark - Another way of saying A11, since he is the final boss in homage form
O1-O12 - Refers to a section of the Omega raid
Deltascape/Sigmascape - Refers to a specific section of the Omega raid
Exdeath - Another way of saying O4, since he is the final boss
Kefka - Another way of saying O8, since he is the final boss
+Savage(S) - Adding Savage or S to the end of any of these refers to the Savage version of those raids.
CT - Refers to the entirety of the Crystal Tower raids
LotA - Refers to the Labyrinth of the Ancients raid
ST - Refers to the Syrcus Tower raid
WoD - Refers to the World of Darkness raid
Mhachi Raids or Void Ark Saga - Refers to the raids found in the Shadow of Mhach series of raids.
Vark - Refers to the Void Ark
Weeping City/Wiping City - Refers to the Weeping City of Mhach raid
Ivalice Saga - Refers to all raids in the Return to Ivalice story
The Lighthouse - Refers to the Ridorana Lighthouss raid
Tide Pod Challenge - Refers to running the Ridorana Lighthouse

TRIALS
RudaEx - Refers to fighting Garuda Extreme
Levi - Refers to Leviathon in all forms, LeviEx specifically for Extreme trial
RavEx - Refers to fighting Ravana Extreme
BisEx - Refers to fighting Bismarck Extreme
The Triad - Refers to fights involving Sephirot, Sophia, and Zurvan, and the story behind them
SophEx - Refers to fighting Sophia Extreme
Niddy - Refers to the Nidhogg in all forms, NiddyEx specifically for the Extreme trial
Primal Ponies - Refers to the horse mounts dropped from the ARR trials
Primal Pigeons or Burbs - Refers to the lanner mounts dropped from the HE trials
Primal Puppies or Doggos - Refers to the wolf/kamuy mounts that drop from the SB trials

DUNGEONS/ROULETTES
Dailies - Referring to all things that have a daily reset, but usually the duty roulettes
Ex - Expert Roulette
Lost City - Refers to the lost City of Amdapor


MISC
Greg - Refers to Gilgamesh, both character and world
Hildy - Refers to Hildibrand Manderville
The Mists - Refers to thr Churning Mists zone and not the Mist housing district
The Beds - Refers to the Lavender Beds housing district

No offense to you Eloah but, am I the only one sick of this silly meme? I've always called him 'Gil' for short since FFV (especially as my character's namesake actually called him that in FFIX), and I'll continue to use that instead of Hildibrand's stupid mistake. I'm stubborn like that.

V1-V8 - more abbreviations for Delta/Sigmascape
Clown Kefka/Clown - Refers explicitly to Clown Kefka in V8S
God Kefka/God - Refers explicitly to God Kefka in V8S
(A lot of raiders tend to refer to Clown and God separately when talking about V8S)
Neo - Refers explicitly to Neo Exdeath in V4S/to V4S in Savage talk

BisEx - Bismarck Extreme
RavEx - Ravana Extreme
ThorEx - Thordan Extreme
NidEx - Nidhogg Extreme
SephEx - Sephirot Extreme
SophEx - Sophia Extreme
ZurvEx - Zurvan Extreme

Birb - Refers to the HW Extreme Primal mounts
Dog/Doggo/Pup - Refers to the SB Extreme Primal mounts

LakEx - Lakshmi Extreme
SusEx - Susano Extreme
ShinEx - Shinryu Extreme
TsuEx/TsukuEx - Tsukuyomi Extreme (I've seen both)

UCoB - Refers to Unending Coil of Bahamut (Ultimate); also seen people call it Ultimate Coil
UwU - Refers to Ultima's Refrain (Ultimate)


I can think of a bunch but they tend to be job-specific terminology/abbreviations as opposed to content jargon.

A few years back when I was in Jenova (I just moved in the past several months-to-year to Cactuar but was inactive for about a year or two), we called Garuda ex "Gex," and basically everything like that so...
Gex = Garuda Ex
Rex = Ramuh Ex
Lex = Leviathan Ex
Tex = Titan Ex
Bex = Bismark Ex

Et cetera. Only one I don't remember is Ifrit but if it's like any of the others, it'd be "iex." Idk if those are still used.


Oh, and for the mounts, we call them: ponies, birds/birbs, doge/doggo/every-variation-of-dog sans the "primal" prefix.

Bonus (aka: I can't remember anything else):

Crack/Krak = Krakka root

I hope you weren't offended... It was just a joke post that included every name I could think of that was used for the races. I would never consider my character that or try to be one and I hate that the names are thrown around.

My Miqo'te female is very much NOT a "thot" and she doesn't run around in clothing like that. Well, okay, I put Shisui on once because well, summer and I planned to do some questing in Ruby Sea. Felt appropriate.

Funny, when I switched to the Shisui gear on healer all I ever got were compliments about how cute it looks. It's also not particularly common as people seem to suggest on my server. I don't know about others.

Unfortunately once someone on the forum that the Thavnarian Bustier set (the dress) was for ERP I decided against using it and used the Bolero set for Melee DPS gear.

My favourite pieces of slang in this game are "Derplander" for the FFXIV hyur default male, and "potato" referring to both Lalafells and cheap computer hardware.

Birb (Bird) / Doggo/Doge/Puppee/Pupper / Snek (Snake) are all current internet slang for the same things, and they translate the same way Japanese would give -tan nicknames to things to make them seem less threatening or make them cuter.
