I think it means you have 1 item in your ivn, 1 slot to put that item in. On your avatar both ears and wrists will show the equipped item. keeping it symmetrical I suppose.I don't know if i'm reading the post right, so maybe someone can enlighten me?
Does that mean, by equipping 1 earring/wristlet, I get a pair of earrings/wristlets, or will I need a pair of earrings/wristlets in my Inventory. If its just 1 earring/wristlet required, will I benefit from double the stats, since it will look like i'm wearing a pair of earrings, or will it just be the stats from 1 earring?
I only ask, because the example recipe change says "Bone Armilla" not a pair of Bone Armilla's
Except for the moonlet earring and the patriot wristlet, which will only be on one side.

wonder if we can add materia on jewel as well ._.
I like ur idea and i would add /display off ringsI'm ok with the changes. I just really hope they add a /display earring off command, as wearing earrings for stats will become the norm now and I really don't want my Lalafell to have gaudy gems dangling from his ears.
So please consider adding a /display option for earrings SE.
A system I would have prefered to have seen implemented:
1) Keep the current 9 slots / 12 slotcost system.
2) Slotcosts don't increase for types of items.
For example: a level 1 ring will have a slotcost of 3. A level 50 ring will still have a slotcost of 3.
3) A better increase of stats of higher level item. You will always want a combination of higher level items over a combination of lower level items!
4) HQ Items: slotcost -1.
Combined with the previous ring example: a normal ring would have slotcost 3. A HQ ring would have slotcost 2.

With your idea you couldn't possibly use 9 slots anyway so whats the big deal? even with a 2 slot cost on everything you could only use 6.A system I would have prefered to have seen implemented:

This is a good change 5 slots is realistic enough for me I hate characters who look blinged up to the eyeballs
Prices of Pearl and Black Pearl rings in Market Wards have dropped already
I think I shall be saving my gemstones til post 1.21 to make the new items
The point was never to fill up all the slots. The point was to be able to pick the items and stats which you personally want. That whole freedom is will be gone.
Besides you missread their concept. There is a lowering in slots but the amount of bling bling is increased to max setting.

This thing really isnt worth arguing about, i guess ppl really do whines for the sake of it. This doesnt really change anything gameplay wise really..
At the examples, it looks like each slot is getting a stat benefit of 50 to 100% more.
Edit: it's clear some level of dyslexia affected my table reading skillz. The word Defense changed into Enmity after I blinked my eyes. I wonder what else I'm misreading?
Should that hold true throughout, we still have the statistical benefit, save on inventory space, and can wear more.
Would also like a /display bling off.
I'm sure there are some guys out there that want the benefit of earrings, but can't handle the fabulousness of their Jem transformation sparkle.

Finally. Slot cost was another stupid tanaka's evil thing along with fatigue, stamine, random exp, etc.
