I think people who want 2 earring slots mostly want it for aesthetic reasons. At least that's the reason for me. Requesting a /display earring [left | right] seems rather stupid, so why not just go with 2 earring slots?

2 ring slots is fine and i can live without 2 bracelet slots, earrings.... yeah, purely aesthetic reasons..

Hmm, maybe they could add 2 earring slots, but only allow you to put 1 earring. But that would be another sort of slot cost again.
