I'll reply as because i see you around on palamecia^^ I use the wirless 360 to play and all i did was configure it in the FFXIV config outside of the game and presto it works. Make sure to plug in the wireless adpater blah blah and it should either work right off or it will install the drivers for it to work, hit the big 360 button in middle to point it connects to wireless adapter and it should work. Also you can test it out in the XIV config before you launch the game.
PS make sure you enable the controller in the config of XIV also

I'll have to try alt-tabbing out when I go afk, Thanks.
Also if you already own a Xbox 360 wireless controller and just need the adapter for your PC, you can find them cheap on ebay.
Alt-tab will still crash the game, even in windowed mode last I checked. Just click outside the game window w/ the mouse.
Are you talking about your Xbox wireless? Or one that you picked up that is specificly made for PC?
I tried to use my 360 controller a couple years ago(using the charging cord plugged into USB), but it never worked.
I went to best buy and for $60 bucks you get one that has a wireless adapter that plugs into the USB. But for the above mentioned reasons...I switched over to corded and never looked back.
It works if you just have the charging station usb cord, well it does on win7 soon as you plug it in it's installs the drivers for it.Are you talking about your Xbox wireless? Or one that you picked up that is specificly made for PC?
