    LoV experience

So I am just now getting into trying LoV. Because of it's bad reputation I never attempted it but I just had to with the changes to the challenge log and I have to say I'm kind of enjoying it. I figured it would be clunky on controller but it's easy to learn and the cpu gives a solid challenge without being op where I'd never win. Haven't tried against another player because I haven't fully gotten the hang of it, but I'm sure I'll try that before the make it rain event ends.

Ik my strategy is probably bad but I've been defending one side with a few lesser pandas, attacking another side with a couple eddas and a random critter, and just spamming fafnir up the middle for a swarm tactic. I guess I want to know what I can improve on from there because I'm definitely not playing optimally.

The best way to improve is to play other good players and learn from what they're doing. That said, there are definitely some obvious trends in the PvP metagame that stand out a lot, and are worth taking note of. Things like...

    1. Speed is a *very* important stat, to the point where any minion without the max 4-speed is not worth considering at all unless it does something really special.
    2. Having a useful limit break is very important as well, as they are very powerful when used properly.
    3. Some structures are much more important to defend than others. It might be ok to lose a gate or two if you know you can defend your last one easily - your opponent is just wasting their time - but if your search eye gets destroyed you go blind instantly and it's a huge hindrance.

If you take things like these into consideration when choosing what minions to use, you'll understand why some commonly seen minions are so popular. In actual matches there's also a lot of nuance beyond that, pertaining to things like what you should attack and how you should move around. The beauty of RTS games is that they're easy to learn and hard to master, so as long as you jump in with good fundamentals, improvement should come naturally.

Also, if you want to quickly look up minion stats to compare them, I recommend this site: http://ffxiverminion.com/minions made by someone from Moogle. It's a really useful resource that puts everything in a big sortable table, much better than flipping through the minion tab ingame.

I've changed my strategy up quite a bit and think I found a good one for facing the cpu (tried facing a person but the que took too long) and I haven't lost yet.

I've been starting by sending 4 wind up kojin down C and following up by sending 2 dust bunnies at the search eye with a single Ixion to defend each of my towers and spawning two more dust bunnies to attack C gate and finally either a lesser panda or bom boko to help defend my gates. The kojin can attack towers great and heal themselves before a defender can kill one and I noticed the kojin get left alone after the search eye is destroyed. Once the dust bunnies kill the search eye I have them attack gate A and all 4 are ready to joint attack B after. The Ixion are tanks while lesser pandas make quick work of poppets that would normally kill Ixion and the Boom boko is there if there is only poppets attacking as a lesser cost. I usually lose 1 tower(A mostly) but the kojin go untouched and make quick work of towers that defending two or even one tower is super easy with Ixion/lesser panda combo.

I've gotten this strat to work consistently in 3:30-4:30 minute matches.

On the topic of Verminion, worth mentioning the tournament is well worth the MGP with the event going on, even if you never play verminion. I played the NPC battle 15 times, won 13 and placed 5th, getting 159k MGP.

My go-to lazy cba-to-learn strat so far has been Kidragora and Wind-Up Gentleman.

-Start 4 Kidragora on A. Send them to Crystal C.
-Spawn 4 Gentlemen at B, send them to your B Crystal.
-Spawn the rest Kidragora's and send them to Crystal B.
-Use the 4 gentlemen as a defence squad to defend your crystals, while the Kidragora smash your opponents crystals.

Beats npcs fairly consistently. I've also used Kidragora and the Gentleman to beat the entire Challenge battle set.

I'll double down on the tournament, highly recommend playing it. My server had 37 people play and all 37 we're on the leader board as opposed to TTs 20, I got 13/15 wins just against the cpu(regular pvp match took too long on que) and got something like 180k mgp. So even if u dislike LoV you might as well do your 5 matches in the tournament to get the challenge log and tournament rewards.

Worth noting that the Verminion tournament is so unpopular on some realms now you don't even need to "play" Verminion to score decent MGP.

    -Enter the Tournament if available.
    -Queue for LOVM: Master Tournament
-Click "Main Command" then "Retreat" to instantly forfeit.
-Repeat up to 15 times to score up to 150 points (10 per loss).

Tested this, landing in 8th place and earning 80000 mgp. We only had 15 participants total.
