I'm sorry for being unclear. By "just inside" or "just outside", I refer to the position of my character. The lighting does not change when the camera position or angle changes. There are no other graphical glitches.

I also believe that a similar change in lighting does not occur in plots in the Goblet or the Lavender Beds, and I have not tested it for plots in Shirogane.

Thank you for the update Myvar.

The difference between the screenshots are subtle and it's good that it's nothing game breaking. The first thing you should try is updating your graphics card drivers if you have not done so already.

Additionally, try tweaking the in-game graphics settings. Try enabling/disabling Glare, Shadows, Ambient Occlusion, Occlusion Culling and use low detail models at a distance. Try changing anything that will affect Lighting or Shadows and see if the error persists.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

No change of any graphical setting affected this issue.

I have noticed, however, that the transition between the out-of-plot lighting and in-plot lighting is similar to the change of lighting between outdoor and indoor areas (or perhaps vice versa), but I do not know if this is significant. As already mentioned, my issue is not affected by the position of the camera, whereas the indoor and outdoor lighting transition uses the position of the camera.

Thank you for the update Myvar. We apologize for the delay in our response.

We were able to replicate this on our side. I think you are right when you say that the lighting changes are similar to the changes from indoor to outdoor. My assumption is that the game engine recognizes the entire plot as "indoors" even when it isn't. This is probably due to plots having different properties that can be customized by players, unlike outdoor areas.

That being said, I don't think this is a bug or technical error as the game engine is doing exactly what it is programmed to do and there is no detriment to the overall experience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention but there really isn't a way to change it as it is working as intended.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
