FFXIV for macOS?

Why do I have to pay for the game again when I've already paid for it and pay a monthly subscription just to play this on my MacBook? I've never encountered a game where they charge separately for Windows and Mac.

If you want to nitpick about this. This also applies to the Steam version which is the exact same game as well.

I have a feeling this is because of who gets a "cut" of the store revenue. There's a third party launcher that integrates better with the OSX password manager for the MacOS version that spells out that the MacOS version IS exactly the same as the PC version.

It could also just be a moneygrab or a way to prevent price differentials in different regions (eg EU) from making one version cheaper than another. Personally I think it's silly to do this at all.

Customer complaints always seem to sound the same, with that hint of 'im not happy, fix my problem' tone to them. Some justified and some not.

"...I've never encountered a game/store/service/product where they [insert personal issue]. This is completely ridiculous. As a paying customer I am very disappointed in your service/product/establishment right now. There is absolutely no way I would ever consider buying/visiting/using/recommending/etc. your [insert service] again."

You forgot "Fix my problem, (competition) does this, why don't you?" when the competition is usually doing the same. In fact you see this with the WoW comparisons on the forum.

The highlight of my call center career(s) was pushing back on ETF (early termination fee) complaints when LNP (Local Number Portability) came out. Good grief, you canceled, you do not get to negotiate away the ETF.
