Regarding limitation for gearing up multiple job at the same time..

    Hi,
I been playing this game since day 1 on and off until now. Every time i quit this game is because lack of raid content for me to do ... Ff14 keep restrict 1 week 1 drop for character. So what is the point if i have dps, healer and tank at max level for the raid. During the last V1 to V4 savage raid, i play tank as main n gear up my tank every week with raid drop n tomestone. When i want to join raid with my dps my gear item levels wasnt high enough to clear v3 or v4...and i cant use my dps to help my fren or other people to do savage raid...so the only choice i have is to level up 2 characters if i want to progress my tank n dps together in the same speed.

So i still duno why ff14 doesnt allow players to get raid drop follow their job. This way people can enjoy playing as many job as they want in the savage raid..

They’ve actually started unlocking Savage a month or so before the new tier drops, starting with Deltascape Savage, so that you always get 2 coffers and a datalog after each clear, regardless of how many times you have cleared it that week. You are also able to skip earlier floors if you just want to farm the third or fourth fights.

That being said, you are allowed (during loot lockouts) to roll on anything and everything that drops from the coffers at the time of your weekly clear, and you can win all said drops if you’re lucky. So if you clear V7S, and the Aiming headpiece and Tank headpiece drop, you can roll Greed on both (or Need on one, Greed on the other if you are rolling BRD/MCH/Tank)—and you can roll on the Solvent and Weave (Need for both). Whether or not you win, however, is another matter.

If you are wanting to gear up multiple jobs, I usually suggest doing weeklies on one where you can roll Need, and then trying to use as many datalogs as possible from the floors for your other jobs unless you are seriously unlucky with drops for your main. At least until they unlock the tier.

There are other gear alternatives right now to help catch up other jobs to ilvls appropriate for Savage. There is Mendacity gear (if you no longer need any for your main, and you can now do the 24 mans/Hunts to get Polish/Weaves to augment them faster), i350 crafted gear that can be augmented to i360 (you trade the gear in to a vendor for tokens, and then purchase an item with Creation tomestones to get i360 gear), i350 Eureka gear (little grindy, but you have guaranteed pentamelding slots on them at least), and i350 Sigmascape Normal gear (that has been unlocked so there is no restriction on loot). They are soon lifting the Greed Only in the new 24-man, so you will be able to easily get gear from there, and the latest Ex primal offers i365 weapons.

For V7S and V8S, you should be able to clear fine on a DPS in a mixture of all the above gear. You don’t need i370 to clear it. Just know that if you have cleared for the week already on your tank, helping your friends clear on your DPS will give them only 1 chest until the weekly loot restrictions on Sigmascape Savage are unlocked, which should be about 1 month before 4.4 drops.

Seems like they did something to improve it. Last time during v1 to v4 savage, my tank is doing good until v3 but the only problem is my dps, i cant gear up my dps enough to do v3 . Well unless i have a team that do basically 0 errors on v3 savage than we can clear. I have done countless time of v3 savage with many groups that failed to complete because dps wasnt high enough but as time pass more n more people item level is higher.. v3 is very easy. Another thing is i hope they allow drop depend on class/job but not character itself.

    Tomestones, Ridorana, crafted gear.

All of Sigma is clearable in i350.

If you're not doing enough damage, then you may need to work on your rotation.
