Game crash when entered in Rhlagr's Reach

    Hello,

I started StormBlood storyquest and when I entered in the Rhlagr's Reach (just after that Lyse reveal the passage to us), my game had an error.

I can't connect my character anymore without having this error message again and again. But I can log on to an other character in an other world.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

If this is only happening on one character, then you might have a corrupt file. Find your FFXIV files in your My Documents folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Delete this folder. This folder stores all of your locally-saved, system and character settings. If you have a character specific setting in a file that's corrupted, you will get that error when you try to load that information.

If this does not work, you can try running the game in DirectX 9 mode and see if you have the same error. Please let us know if this resolves the issue or not.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Hello,

I deleted the folder and the problem is still here. Same problem when I launch the game in DirectX 9 mode.

Hello Pilobill, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Based on the information provided, we have come to the conclusion that a complete reinstall of the game may be necessary. Please uninstall Final Fantasy XIV from your computer. Make sure to delete any remaining FFXIV files from your computer, including any potential files in your ‘Documents’ folder. Then reinstall the game from scratch. If you need a digital version of this, it can be found here: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/. Any updates or expansions will be downloaded to your computer once logged into the appropriate account

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV! Hope to see you online.

I succeeded to connect to my character after erasing the game. But during "Keeper of the Lake", I had an other error message.

But I can play right now.

Thank you for the update Pilobill.

Okay, at the very least you can get in game. Regarding the new error, I'd suggest updating your graphics card drivers if you have not done so already. Check to see if Directx 9 mode causes the same issue as well.

If neither of those solves the issue, you can try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
