Yes, this is correct. And every time the FPS drops, there's a stutter, or something like a momentary freeze.

Keep the in-game limiter off. I'd like to see how this affects the stuttering, since the game is not listening to the in-game frame rate limiter in a few of these cases.
Thanks for the tip: I tried it (and made sure I had the game selected), but it doesn't appear to have any effect on the in-game fps. When I set the in-game frame rate limit to None, and change the V-Sync options in the Nvidia Control Panel, the fps is still higher than 60. (Over 100 fps, actually, apart from when it drops.) I also tried the other V-Sync options that were available, but the in-game fps were still higher than 100. (The drops/mini freezes still occur.)

Perhaps I can search for other alternatives that will help me get the FPS to 60?

Hello Thank you for your response.

I see you use an overlay and have programs running in the background. Have you tried to disable the overlay and try playing with nothing running in the background? Please try this.

    Hope to be of assistance.

I'll see if disabling the overlay works. There's a new Nvidia Driver update as well so i'm downloading it now. Hopefully this is not a continuing issue as Eureka/Hunts is kinda important for a non-raider xD.

Hello Thank you all for your responses.

We are going to be escalating this issue. In the mean time we suggest:

Limiting FPS, lowering resolution and in game settings.

We do apologize for any inconveniences that this has caused and will work toward a solution. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV! Hope to see you online.

So far the game seems to be operating more fluidly that's with Black Desert Online running on the background. GPU is now at a 25% average that's with both FFXIV and BDO running xD. We'll see lol.

Crashed once, twice lagged/freezed when loading from Kugane to > Tsukihime EX and Rhalgs Reach > Tsukihime Ex, had a over a minute loading with the sound cutting out completely. Was running the game on DX9. I had this issue yesterday too that when I launched FFXIV, the sound will completely disappear, even if I minimize FFXIV and play a youtube video the sound is gone, then when I close FFXIV the sound is back. GPU load still spiking to 100% at Stormblood areas.

Don't think its a overheating problem since my pc is cooled properly and has a fan at full blast facing it inside a 70F air conditioned room.

The issue brought up in this thread has nothing to do with stutters, the stutter the other player mentioned is not the issue and has nothing to do with much higher GPU usage, stutter usually happens on slow hard drives, driver issues/conflicts and high temperatures, a cluttered Windows or just poor optimization on the game but there's no stutter, and when stutters happen the GPU always drops in usage and then goes back to normal which obviously increases the GPU clocks, that's normal.

Now, like i said stutters can happen due to high temperatures as it will throttle the GPU/CPU depending on what's getting too hot, since the usage is higher it increases temperatures causing throttle, so it might be the problem of that player.

Anyway had to clear that up before the wrong info was "escalated", the problem is what's in the title, GPU usage going up to max, i'm inside my Medium House in Lavender Beds, 71% usage, seriously?

I play at 1440p with a GTX1080 and 60FPS lock, this issue is new with patch 4.3.

    - Transparent Light Quality from high to normal drops usage inside the house by around 8%
    - Ambient Occlusion from HBAO+ Standard to Off 6%

But this is normal as both of these are GPU intensive, hence why i don't even use HBAO+ Quality.

I also noticed my temperatures getting higher than normal, especially since ambient temp is 15ºC.

I don't know if something in the graphics engine was update and is causing this but something is clearly wrong.

I can provide screenshots and even record videos showing what's happening if needed.

Please look into this, thank you.

Hello RareItems, Thank you for your response.

The sound issue I believe should have been resolved, I think that there should be an update on the lodestone regarding that issue. As far as your GPU spiking to 100% we did escalate this issue and it is being looked into. In the mean time we suggest Lowering FSP, resolution and in game settings.

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV! Hope to see you online.

Hello RobbieH, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Thank you for clarifying your issue. I can add the information you have provide to the escalation. Unfortunately, right now all we can suggest is to limit your FPS, lowering your resolution and in game settings. As soon as we have any updates regarding this issue we will provide them.

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV! Hope to see you online.
