all GFE does is change the settings of the game, which will he reflected in game. There were occasions where I had unexplained FPS drop with my Nvidia 3080, the solution I did was to use the Nvidia experience optimizer to optimize the graphics for the game. After that my FPS returned to normal and you can still change the graphical settings in the ff14 configuration menu after. I hope this might work for you.
It does not optimize the driver itself or change driver settings for the game.

GPU is on max load from the moment I log in. Checking the task manager on Windows shows that the 3D setting on the game goes up to 100% and keeps being there for as long as I'm tabbed into the game. It could be the cause of the no limit on FPS as I run lower FPS settings when the game is in the background.
