Need more Hildibrand

There was going to be on in Shadowbringers. You can see the places where it was going to be, people in towns talking about a great detective, and a GENTLEMAN, and other such things.

Then it got cut for time, and because they thought we were bored of it.

I hope we end up with it eventually, just like DSW got finished, eventually.

It was cut because they were burned out on making Hildebrand storylines.
It was the Deep Dungeon that was cut because they thought we were bored of it.

We will probably get him back in Endwalker, was definitely disappointed that they had everything set up (Gil dragging him to another world) and all we got was a rare appearance in Heroes' Gauntlet.

They did say they've already got ideas for Hildibrand in 6.x so we should be seeing his return.

I stumbled across this questline and had no idea it would be so fun - would be great to see more.

He does sometimes make a cameo in the Hero's Gauntlet dungeon. Dunno if OP has gotten to it yet, so possible spoiler.

Specifically, he sometimes appears in the place of one of the summoned hero spirits in the background. It's a callback to a wordplay joke in the ARR quests that was lost in translation, where an NPC confuses "Warrior of Light" ("Hikari no Senshi") with "Gentleman of Light" ("Hikari no Shinshi").

Considering they're both developed by different departments, such a tradeoff isn't really even an option.

My guess they planned Hildibrand for ShB but then government lockdowns happened.
