I abandon everything I'm doing in game (be it trials, maps, dungeons) if I see or hear a flash of lightning IRL.
Dat phobia of mine too stronk.
It probably seems rude though "Gotta go, thunderstorm" *poofs*

It is a wise fear.
Had my PC fried TWICE (in the same year!) from trying to squeeze "just 10 more minutes" when it seemed it won't be storming immediately for the next half an hour.
Until BAM! suddenly loud thunder scared the hell out of me and KO'd my computer.
Two empty wallets later, I have learnt my lesson.

Yup. I have them now thanks to the expensive experience.
I still make it a habit to shut everything down because (1) it's a good safety precaution (2) I've been scarred for life.

Genuinely curious, where are u living, how can this happen?
I remember when I was a kid 25 years ago, we feared something like that could happen so my family used to turn everything electric off vut I can't imagine something like that happening to me now - maybe the storms where I live are just too weak lol

I live in South East Asia. The weather can change drastically from where I am from. It could be scorching hot in the morning then raining in the evening. I have read that our standard for "heavy rain" qualifies as storm in other parts of the world. So it might be possible our storms are somewhat stronger than what you're familiar with.
