I find it funny they teased it a little over a year ago.

The Ultimate Steps of Faith. Its actually just the pre-nerfed version of the original.
Really though given that its probably ARR fights exclusive for now I could see Lahabrea and Nabrialas showing up for the 4.5 Ultimate fighting. The Unending Darkness.
They always leave out Leviathan, Shiva and Ramuh when they redo the ARR primal fights. I'd like to see them make a come back. Ramuh especially was pretty tricky in its day.

they could make ultimate out of anything they felt was worth the dev time
I suspect an alexander ultimate that involves fighting a ton of goblin war machines and the voltron parts and brute justice while a giant alexander is in the background shooting lasers across the arena would be in the works
warring triad would be pretty amazing but also that would be an ideal phase one of kefka ultimate imo
with as much time as nidhogg got as the main villain a steps of faith ultimate where you actually fight off a huge dragon onslaught ending with a duel against nidhogg makes sense
Sastasha (Ultimate)
The current two ultimates were both from 2.x, one was the 2.x raid, and the other the 2.x trials. It only makes sense to me for the final ultimate of this expansion to then be the 2.x 24-man, in an 8-man format. Next expansion we'd get the exact same thing but from 3.x. Alexander, Warring Triad, Shadows of Mhach.

I do like the idea of omega. If VII is the final phase then we would beat Sephiroth in O12 and then his final form making us the true champions of his triaL. Our prize would then be the ultimate fight against Omega. Also works as you'd need to be O12S to unlock Omega Ultimate. Would also be a very good narrative to close out Stormblood and Stormblood Raid too.
